𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒: 𝗞𝗩𝗡𝗛𝗦'𝘀 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 10 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺

Kasiglahan Village National High School launched its Reading Intervention Program today to help students struggling with reading comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary. The program, which will continue for several weeks, started from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM in the ICT Room of the Main Building.

The program was organized by the school’s English 10 teachers and supported by student teacher volunteers, including Patricia Serato and Ma. Anika Sorillo from Grade 10 Rizal. These student teachers led the session and worked closely with the students, providing hands-on help.

"Being the first student-reading teacher, I have a lot of unspoken ideas and unexplained words in my heart," Serato shared.

"Seeing students who are eager to learn and improve their reading skills makes me very happy. Even though I had a lot of worries about when to begin the reading intervention, I also felt pressure because I was the first teacher to conduct the session. But as time passed, my fears and worries eventually faded as I witnessed those Grade 10 students gaining new understanding and knowledge." she added.

The goal of the program is to address the specific needs of each student by offering lessons that can improve their reading skills and build a strong foundation for future academic success. Through personalized instruction, the aim is to not only improve reading abilities but also help boost the students' confidence in the classroom.

This program is part of the school’s ongoing effort to support students in strengthening their literacy and making sure they get the help they need to succeed academically.

5-𝗠𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮 𝗞𝘂𝗰𝗵𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁!

What a day to celebrate! The Grade 10 Kasiglahenyos truly shone in the spotlight, showcasing their immense talent and passion in our KVNHS Read-a-thon, 5-Minute Pecha Kucha Selection, expertly organized and led by the English 10 teachers.

From over 31 participants, 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗡. 𝗖𝗶𝘀𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘀 (Section: Mabini) rose to the top, impressing everyone with her confidence and creativity. She will proudly represent our school in the 2025 MonSO Read-a-thon in English this January.

This event wasn’t just about competition, it was about passion, storytelling, and connection. Each participant brought something unique to the stage, making it a tough call for the judges. Following Danielle were 𝗣𝗮𝘂𝗹𝗮 𝗘𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮 𝗚. 𝗚𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲 (Section: Silang) in second place and 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗟𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗮 𝗖. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗼 (Section: Rizal) in third. The rest of the Top 10 also delivered incredible performances that left the audience inspired.

Moments like this remind us of the amazing potential Kasiglahenyos have to offer. With Danielle leading the way, our school is ready to shine brighter than ever at the MonSO Read-a-thon in January. Congratulations to everyone who made this event a success, you’ve made your school and community proud!

Opportunities are like ships sailing on the vast sea of life; and you are the island. Some may dock at your shore, others may not, as they will be drifted away by the winds you have no control in. Inevitably, it's tempting to chase after those who have slipped away, thinking that if you have been quicker, smarter, or more prepared, they might have been yours.

It is undeniably hard to live a life that is being weighed down by a never ending “What could have been.” Especially when the world, with its constant line “Sayang” and “Dapat sana,” seeps into your mind deeply.

Making you believe that maybe, you are to blame—that you, in some way, failed to seize what was destined for you. That maybe, it really was your fault, that you let those ships and the treasure within them slip away.

But what if those opportunities, no matter how promising they appeared, were never meant to be yours? What if those opportunities you long for, the one's you regret of losing, were simply on a different course— headed towards lands unknown, carrying stories that were never yours to write?

You see, not every ship that sails past was meant to stay. So, no. It was not your fault; it was not because you were slow, nor because you were not smart enough— it just wasn't meant for you.

The sea is vast, but your island is strong. Do not mourn over the ships that past, for they belong to another voyage. The ships that are truly meant for you will arrive, not because you chased them down, but because they were always meant to find the way to your shore.

For example, endlessly scrolling through short-form video platforms filled with repetitive, uninformative content could be seen as contributing to brain rot.

Oxford reports a staggering 230% surge in the word's usage from 2023 to 2024.

It is a day to highlight the importance of preventing HIV transmission and to encourage people to get tested and seek treatment.
The day also serves as a reminder of the ongoing fight against AIDS and the need for continued research, education, and advocacy.
It is a time to reflect on the impact of the disease on individuals, families, and communities around the world.
The red ribbon is the universal symbol of awareness and support for people living with HIV.
It was first devised in 1991, when twelve artists met to discuss a new project for Visual AIDS, a New York HIV-awareness arts organisation.It was there that they came up with what would become one of the most recognised symbols of the decade: the red ribbon, worn to signify awareness and support for people living with HIV.
They wanted to create a visual expression of compassion for people living with HIV and chose red for its boldness, and for its symbolic associations with passion, the heart and love.

On this 30th day of November, we commemorate the life of one of the Philippines' greatest revolutionaries in history- Andres Bonifacio, the Father of the Philippine Revolution, Ama ng Katipunan.

Bonifacio's memory stands for the freedom brought about by the vision and blood of our forefathers, freeing us from centuries of agonizing Spanish colonization. At the cost of their own lives and even that of all they held dear, they fought for a future they weren't certain they could even lay their eyes upon.

It is with the reminiscence and celebration of this timeless honor that we must look at what was once their future, which is now the present our nation enjoys.

Would our present satisfy the vision of the future which our predecessors, who fought tooth and nail, once yearned for? Or would they take us for spineless fools, and incite another revolution to cleanse the mire we've stuck ourselves in?

We are still being invaded—this time, by the complacency that has settled by seating tragic incompetence into power, and the collective neglect of not treasuring the freedom paid for with the price of lives and blood.

Bonifacio's spark of revolution stands for change, and to give tribute to his heroism means to recognize that love for one's country isn’t simply blind declaration of glory.

It is from Bonifacio's life that we can learn that to love one's country, one must see its rot and take up the honorable burden of raising a revolution to carve it out.
