Kia Philippines has brought in its entry-level crossover SUV, the Sonet, as the replacement for the Stonic. Fun fact: the nameplate Sonet is derived from the combination of the words “Social” and “Network.”

Unlike its counterparts, the Sonet is powered by a four-pot 1.5-liter Dual Port Fuel Injected gasoline engine, generating 113 hp and 144 Nm of torque. It is mated to an Intelligent Variable Transmission. The six-speed Manual Transmission is exclusive to the base model LX.

The 1.5 SX AT has a sophisticated 10.25-inch TFT LCD multi-function digital instrument cluster, while the 1.5 LX MT, 1.5 LX AT, and 1.5 EX AT all feature a 4.2-inch TFT LCD in the driver’s display.

Exclusive to the 1.5 SX is an advanced 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The LX and EX trims sport have an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Other standard features are six audio speakers, Bluetooth hands-free connectivity, voice recognition, and multiple USB ports, including USB-C.

The 1.5 LX MT, 1.5 LX AT, and 1.5 EX AT will be available in Vivid Red, Snow White Pearl, and Imperial Blue, while the 1.5 SX AT will be available in either Vivid Red or Snow White Pearl, both with a black roof. Toyota Motor Philippines'
(TMP) electrified vehicle roadshow “Go Electrified with Toyota” returns to Bonifacio Global City, Taguig this weekend, December 8-10, 2023, with an open-to-the-public showcase of all its Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) at the Bonifacio High Street
Amphitheater.

A Sneak Peek at 2024 MG Cars

MG Philippines has previewed at its media Christmas party, two new models that are set to debut locally next year.

Starting with the globally-anticipated battery-electric sports car MG Cyberster. Donning a revolutionary design, it is a combination of the iconic roadster heritage with modern brand design language. Depending on what variant will be offered here, this all-electric roadster comes in two powertrain options. One has the rear motor, rear-wheel drive variant generating over 300 hp while the dual-motor, all-wheel-drive version puts out over 530 hp.

Meanwhile, the MG One is an addition to the brand’s SUV lineup. Built on the SAIC Motor Intelligent Global Architecture (SIGMA) platform, it has a dynamic and muscular exterior design, a roomy and technologically advanced interior as well as a cutting-edge safety system. Motivation comes from a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine generating 181 hp and 285 Nm of torque.

Expect other models to be launched next year.
