Restoration Notes: NUKSO NANG NUKSO is a 1960 comedy that was scanned in 4K resolution using the 35mm print from LVN Pictures, Inc. stored at the ABS-CBN Film Archives. Since the first part of the print was missing, the SD version from the Betacam copy was used to fill in the missing part. As a result, there is a distinctive difference between the first part and the rest of the film in terms of image clarity. The film had undergone automated restoration and manual enhancement that took 80 hours to minimize the impairments such as shallow scratches, specks, flicker, grains, dust, dirt, and image instability. Color adjustments were made to closely achieve the contrast and brightness of the original material. The audio was also in fair condition except for occasional noises such as pops, hisses, crackers, and clicks which were significantly addressed during the audio restoration. Restoration Notes: Tatlong Taong Walang Diyos is a 1976 classic film that was scanned in 4K resolution using the 35mm print borrowed from the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP). It was digitally restored in 2K resolution in 2016 by L'Immagine Ritrovata, in Bologna, Italy. The surviving best print had virtually faded and had lost not just its color but also its details. Although the film was heavily scratched, the restoration, which took 1,450 hours, was able to bring back much of the details, clean up the images, and even lift some of the colors. The audio taken from the sound negatives was also digitally restored. Due to the color fading damage of the film with magenta dominance, the restored film was regraded to black and white. The scanned & enhanced SHAKE, RATTLE & ROLL 1 (1984) is NOW SHOWING in select cinemas as part of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Official Sine Sigla Sa Singkwenta! Check out the before & after enhancement clips! Restoration Notes: SHAKE RATTLE AND ROLL 1 is a 1984 horror that was scanned in 4K and digitally enhanced in 2K resolution using the existing 35mm print from the collection of ABS-CBN Film Archives. Although the film elements were still in good condition, a portion at the end of “Episode 2: Pridyider” is no longer available in the surviving print. Also, heavy fungus in “Episode 1: Baso” is evident and proved difficult to be addressed in the enhancement. Among the impairments that have been addressed during the picture enhancement that took a total of 35 hours were dust, specks, and shallow scratches. Bulk of the hours were used in balancing the color especially on the day for night scenes. The scanning of the film was completed in 2019 by Marco Jerome Gatpandan, while the picture enhancement was completed in 2024 by Mik Pestaño, both at the ABS-CBN Film Archives.
