Excitement filled the air as the Junior High School (JHS) Girl's Volleyball Intramurals elimination round unfolded with intense matchups that kept the crowd on its edge at the Parking Area on January 24.

The Yellow Chavaliers' strong finish against the Orange Embers in the first set was enough to carry the momentum for an overwhelming second set, 26-24, 25-9, courtesy of their relentless attacks and defensive plays.

The Green Prodigies followed with a commanding performance against the Blue Seraphim through its solid defense and coordinated plays, 25-11, 25-13, to complete the sweep.

Students eagerly anticipate the next showdown as the Seraphim take on the Chavaliers in the upcoming intramural match, with both teams determined to secure the championship name.

JCSGO Christian Academy's (JCA) Senior High School (SHS) Department hosted a Bible Quiz Bee to celebrate Bible Month at the Jireh room on January 20.

The top three winners from each classroom's elimination round advanced to the final round, which consisted of three stages: easy, average, and difficult, with 10 questions in each stage.

The event challenged participants to recall Bible passages, themes, and teachings while deepening their understanding of God's Word.

Facilitated by Ms. Faith Desiree Cariรฑo-Alberto, the quiz bee aimed to inspire students to deepen their understanding of the Bible while encouraging friendly competition.

"These types of quiz bees help me na mag-review pa lalo ng Word of God. Besides the fact that it is fun, it is also something that would help you grow kasi mag-reread ka at mag-reread ng Bible. We get to read because of that particular quiz bee," said Alyssa Alpino, a contestant from Grade 12-Elohim

The winners of the competition will be announced during the Bible Month Culminating Activity on January 31.

In celebration of Bible Month, JCSGO Christian Academy (JCA) held its Early Childhood Education (ECE) retreat, bringing pupils and teachers together for a day of fellowship, fun, and spiritual growth, on January 17, at the Audio-Visual-Room (AVR).

The retreat kicked off with a lively praise and worship session, setting the tone for a day filled with meaningful activities, followed by the โ€œBible Story Contest,โ€ where nine pupils dressed up and acted out their favorite Bible stories and characters.

After the contest, participants were divided into four color-coded teams: blue, yellow, red, and orange, each guided by a teacher and two student leaders, who facilitated activities, adding a twist to the retreat.

Teams then prepared for a group presentation, where they displayed their creativity, unity, and teamwork. The day also featured a reflective session led by Ms. Liza Reyes, who shared an inspiring message on how God can transform lives.

โ€œItโ€™s an unforgettable opportunity to collaborate with the ECE teachers, students, and student leaders who came to support and assist us during the retreat. The retreat is not just about physical and emotional experiences but, most importantly, about the spiritual journey. Itโ€™s a way to celebrate Bible Month and give thanks to God,โ€ shared Ms. Venisse Jastiva.

The retreat serves as a testament to JCAโ€™s commitment to nurturing not only the minds but also the hearts and souls of its students, which aligns with its mission to glorify God in all aspects of education.

A dynamic and inspiring workshop titled "Enhancing Student Behavior, Pinong Pino Ako" was conducted for Grades 7-12 at the Central Hall on January 15.

Led by the esteemed speaker Ms. Caryl Joy, the event brought together students and teachers in a lively and interactive session, as it kicked off with an ice breaker entitled "Eh ikaw?" which brought the session to life as teachers competed with students.

With the guidance of Ms. Joy, attendees delved into critical topics, including the significance of confidence and self-esteem in navigating teenage challenges, building meaningful relationships and preparing for adulthood, and the value of ethical decision-making in shaping responsible individuals.

"I feel empoweredโ€”it was emotional and I realized that Pinong-Pino ako isn't just something that should be said but done as we aspire to be Christ-like; like God," Ephraim Buenaflor from 10-Glorious felt after the event.

JCSGO Christian Academy (JCA) Senior High School (SHS) Department held its annual college fair, providing grade 12 students with essential information on higher education opportunities on Wednesday, January 8.

Spearheaded by Ms. Sheila Trance Padilla, JCA Guidance Counselor, the fair, comprising of 26 colleges and universities, put up booths to showcase their college programs, admissions processes, and scholarship offers.

Each participating institution distributed various promotional items, including souvenirs, freebies, flyers, and brochures, to help students better understand their options.

In addition to the booths, representatives were available to speak, offering personalized advice on application procedures, campus life, and financial aid.

"The college fair went well, and personally, I think that the college fair was really helpful, and having these types of events can be a big help for students, like me, who are still lost on what university or what course to pursue in college. Colleges vary in many industries, insights from these schools gave me an idea about the things I take interest in," Clyve Owen Cabaddu from Grade 12-Elohim said.

Amidst the joy, celebrations, and traditions, the birth of Jesus represents a divine act of love and sacrifice. His coming into the world was not for earthly comforts but to fulfill the greatest purpose: to offer salvation through His suffering and death.

This season, as we exchange gifts and gather with loved ones, itโ€™s important to reflect on the deeper significance of Christ's birthโ€”a gift of hope, redemption, and eternal life. May this truth inspire us to live with gratitude, compassion, and a renewed sense of purpose. Merry Christmas!

JCA Senior High School (SHS) and the Student Council (SC) marked its thanksgiving party for this year with the theme "The Light That Never Fades," bringing together students and teachers in a lively celebration at the Central Hall on December 20.

The day of celebrations began with individual classroom festivities, featuring activities and events organized by the officers of each section, followed by the main event at the Central Hall.

The event set an uplifting tone with the Praise & Worship by the JCA SHS Praise Team followed by an opening prayer led by John Christian Ojos, SC Spiritual Officer.

After a warm welcome by the event hosts, Janelle De Ocampo, SC President, and Yuri Naranja, SC Secretary, attendees dove into an engaging ice breaker activity, sparking laughter and enjoyment among everyone.

Judges for the thanksgiving presentations were Mr. John Michael P. Maribojoc, JCA alumni, and Mr. Sam Soliven and Mr. Sundae Burce, heads of JCA Praise Team.

The first thanksgiving presentation kicked off with the rendition of "12 Days of Christmas," showcasing students' creativity and holiday cheer in each of their play.

It was shortly followed by an interactive turn of events with a lively "Survey Says" game, adding excitement to the celebration, where 11-Shiloh emerged victorious.

The winners of the "Gratitude Jar" raffle draw were also announced, with Dharylle Yasay and Alyssa Alpino from 12-Elohim, and Nicole Nobleza from 11-Elyon taking home the prizes.

12-Elohim was crowned the Champion, with 11-Shiloh taking first runner-up and 11-Shalom securing second runner-up for the thanksgiving presentation.

"Super memorable talaga โ€˜tong last thanksgiving party ko here sa JCA. Dahil alam ko na last year ko na rito, inenjoy ko talaga yung event, nagsayaw, naglaro, and naging champion pa sa thanksgiving presentation. I think ito yung one of the best event ngayong year sa JCA," said Jewell Pearl Competente from 12-Elohim.

JCSGO Christian Academy Junior High School (JHS) Department celebrated Thanksgiving Party 2024 with the theme "Light of the World: Focusing on Jesus, the Light who came into Darkness," with joyful smiles at the Seed Dome on December 20.

The event was spearheaded by the Supreme Student Government (SSG), Mr. Zael Tan, SSG Adviser, and Ms. Rinoa Mae Udaundo.

One of the competitions was the "Classroom Carol," which was a classroom contest made to make students feel the spirit of Christmas in their lives. They were tasked to dance and sing using christmas songs to reflect the sacrifice of God.

9-Great claimed the third spot, followed by 10-Gracious in second place, and 10-Victorious emerging victorious, touching the hearts of the JCAians with their presentation.

"It was very successful, I can really feel the love of God during our performance and the other performances. I really loved this event because it was unique from all the other events and I can really feel the love of God inside the Dome, that is why I admire this event so much," said Joaquin Aberin from 10 Victorious.

Following the festivities at the Seed Dome, students continued the celebration in their classrooms, where they gathered with their advisers and classmates to share the joy and love of the season.

Early Childhood Education (ECE) and Grade School (GS) pupils' festive cheer filled the air, as kinder students, along with their parents, came together for their Christmas Thanksgiving Program at the Central Hall and Seed Dome on December 20.

The ECE Department, spearheaded by Teacher Liza Reyes, kicked off with her warm opening remarks followed by the singing of Hark the Herald Angels Sing by students and parents, setting the tone for the heartwarming celebration.

Kinder AM captivated the audience with their synchronized performance of "When I Think About Christmas" in cute white outfits and gloves with Kinder PM following with a rendition of "Too Wonderful."

The celebration concluded with all the kindergarten students joining together for a joyful "Happy Birthday Jesus," complete with gifts, balloons, and a heartfelt tribute to Christโ€™s birth.

The ECE event ended with impressive parent presentations. Kinder AM parents sang as a choir, while their children, dressed as Bible characters, sang "Gloria" with angelic voices, and some students performed solo.

Meanwhile, the GS thanksgiving celebration was hosted by Ms. Kristine Cruzado and Ms. Rinoa Mae Udaundo, with a theme of โ€œHeavenly Glow; Red and White Show!โ€

The GS students presented their carol presentations where each section chose one to two songs such as โ€œMaryโ€™s Boy Child,โ€ โ€œGloria,โ€ and โ€œIt's Christmasโ€ to showcase their talents.

Followed shortly by an in-classroom event organized by the Supreme Pupil Government titled โ€œClassroom Decoration for Christmas,โ€ where students were able to display their creativity.

โ€œIt was great because I got to experience my last christmas party as a grade school student in JCA, as well as experiencing it with my friends, teachers, and 2024 since we are close to 2025. Furthermore my friendโ€™s and I got to experience the games, positivity, and fun!โ€ said Stacey C. Corpuz from 6-Purity.

Both departments enjoyed themselves, spread holiday cheer during the events, and celebrated their thanksgiving party together.

To celebrate the Christmas season and highlight their singing talents, the JCA Chorale participated in STI's first-ever Christmas Carol Competition.

JCSGO Christian Academy (JCA) Chorale group joined the melody at "Namamasko Po! A Christmas Carol Competition" for the first time at Systems Technology Institute (STI) College, Cubao, on December 6.

Several high schools participated in the competition, including Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo High School, San Jose National High School, STI Global City, and San Juan High School.

"When I stood there on stage, I was extremely nervous. However, seeing the JCAians cheering us from afar made me feel at ease," said Alyssa Alpino, one of the Chorale members, during her experience in the contest.

Ms. Gianinne Angelee Castor, the Choir Director, shared their journey in the competition, "The overall experience was fun, of course, there were bumps along the way but all their sacrifices, sweat and tears were worth it after seeing them give their best performance as a choir."
