Tzu Chi Philippines launches Charity Run for Education

On June 18, Tzu Chi Philippines launched its first Charity Run for Education before sponsors and members of the media at the Tzu Chi Cafe in Buddhist Tzu Chi Campus, Sta. Mesa, Manila. An event whose proceeds will sustain the schooling of 1,700 disadvantaged youth currently in Tzu Chi's Educational Assistance Program, the run also promotes the foundation's advocacy for environmental protection. Loot bags, shirts (for 1K runners), and singlets (for 3K, 5K, and 10K runners) are made of recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET), the material processed from single-use plastic bottles. All participants will also receive a reusable hydration cup made from the biodegradable agricultural waste wheat straw.

From the year 1529 is the Potaje de Adobado de Gallina, a chicken dish inspired by the Pipian which originated in Mexico. Then in 1613, the Adobo de los Naturales came about which is currently known as dry adobo and is made from a combination of pork and chicken. Primer Distribution Center meets worldwide ‘green’ standard

It’s the first and only Filipino-owned Green Mark-Certified building in the Philippines

Primer Distribution Center (PDC), the in-house warehousing and distribution hub of the Primer Group of Companies, has secured the prestigious Green Mark Gold Certification from Singapore, making it the first and only Filipino-owned Green Mark-certified building in the Philippines.

Constructed in 2018 within the industrial hub of Cupang, Muntinlupa, the PDC was designed by the Primer Group to encompass a 5,000-sqm office and warehouse space, and an additional 10,000-sqm storage facility. Since its inception, the building was designed to be sustainable and energy efficient.

BPI holds first-ever corporate running event in the Philippines

Held along Ayala Avenue in Makati City, the event drew 4,000 participants from almost 300 companies and organizations

The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) hosted the BPI Corporate Race 2024, the country’s first corporate running event, which offered an exciting and healthy bonding activity for employees across the business community. This event is part of the bank’s activities to celebrate its Sustainability Awareness Month.

“The success of the BPI is a testament to the collective efforts of our corporate community,” said Gina Eala, BPI Chief Human Resources Officer. “The overwhelming participation and enthusiasm we witnessed today highlight the importance of advocating workplace health and wellness, which is essential for the well-being and productivity of all employees. We are grateful to everyone who participated and supported this initiative.”

The race featured two open categories, 5k and 10k, accommodating runners of all levels. Starting from Ayala Triangle Gardens and winding through Makati’s business district, the event provided a scenic and invigorating route for participants. Runners donned company-branded shirts, showcasing their team spirit and corporate pride.
