READ || Dalawa sugatan sa banggaan ng motorsiklo at Nissan Urvan sa Roxas, Palawan

Dalawa ang sugatan matapos mabangga ang isang motorsiklo ng isang Nissan Urvan sa Purok Republic, Barangay IV, Roxas, Palawan, bandang 10:31 ng gabi noong December 20.

Ayon sa ulat, ang motorsiklo, isang Euro Motorcycle 125 na minamaneho ni Keneth Tindeg, 28, at residente ng Barangay IV, Roxas, ay may angkas na si Melissa John Medalla Alingajan, 33, residente ng Barangay 3, Roxas. Papunta umano ito sa Barangay IV mula sa poblacion ng Roxas ng mangyari ang aksidente.

Samantala, ang Nissan Urvan na minamaneho ni Rey Salgarino Nolasco, 44, at residente ng Barangay New Guinlo, Taytay, Palawan, ay nanggaling naman mula Puerto Princesa City patungo sa Taytay, Palawan.

Nabangga diumano ang motorsiklo matapos mag-left turn ang Nissan Urvan sa south diversion road. Dahil sa lakas ng impact, tumilapon ang motorsiklo ng humigit-kumulang 18 talampakan mula sa pinangyarihan ng aksidente.

Sugatan ang driver ng motorsiklo at ang kanyang angkas na agad isinugod ng mga tauhan ng MDRRMO sa Roxas Medicare Hospital. Samantala, ligtas naman at hindi nasaktan ang driver ng Nissan Urvan.

TINGNAN || Ang puting sasakyan na ito, nag-overshoot sa kalsada at nalaglag sa gilid nito sa Labog, Sofronio Española, ngayong umaga ng Sabado, December 21.

Ayon sa isang saksi, mabilis umano ang pagpapatakbo ng driver at sila ay in-overtake pa. Bandang 9:49 a.m. naganap ang aksidente.

"Lipad talaga. Buti na lang ganoon kasi kung hindi, ewan na lang kung sa anong bagsak niya," ayon sa saksi.

Nasa lugar na rin ang mga awtoridad para magsagawa ng imbestigasyon.

PHOTO STORY || Puerto Princesa demo farm that's truly Instagrammable to open for public tours on December 21-22

The Puerto Princesa City Agriculture Office (PCAO) will open its demonstration farm located in Barangay Mangingisda to the public on December 21-22, 2024. The project aims to showcase modern and sustainable farming methods suitable for sloping and mountainous areas.

Known as the Rural Agricultural Center (RAC), the facility serves as a learning hub for farmers interested in adopting natural and environmentally friendly farming practices. The site demonstrates the principles of Sustainable Agriculture for Land Transformation (SALT) and contour farming, where visitors can learn about proper crop selection and eco-friendly planting techniques.

According to the Puerto Princesa City Agriculture Office, the farm emphasizes the integration of agriculture, tourism, and environmental conservation. The project aims to raise farmers' awareness of innovative and sustainable farming methods that can boost agricultural productivity while preserving the natural landscape.

Visitors to the RAC can expect scenic views from elevated areas of the farm. The PCAO advises visitors to prepare for an uphill trek to fully appreciate the panoramic beauty of the area. The facility is located 3.5 kilometers from the intersection of Barangay Luzviminda on the road leading to Barangay Mangingisda, with signages placed along the route to guide visitors.

The demonstration farm will be open to the public every Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to follow farm guidelines to ensure the safety and orderliness of the experience for everyone.

The Puerto Princesa City Agriculture Office emphasized that this project is dedicated to the "Farmer Heroes" who continue to work tirelessly to ensure food security for every household. Through this initiative, the PCAO aims to inspire and educate farmers and the general public on the vital role of sustainable agriculture in food production and environmental conservation.

[Updated] LOOK || Cargo vessel lumubog sa karagatan malapit sa Johnson Island sa bayan ng Roxas sa Palawan

Isang cargo vessel na may dalang mabibigat na kagamitan para sa konstruksyon ang lumubog sa karagatang sakop ng Barangay VI, Johnson Island, Roxas, Palawan, noong Biyernes, December 20.

Ayon sa ulat, ang LCT 788 na pinamumunuan ng isang kapitan ay lumubog bandang 1 p.m. dulot ng malalakas na alon at masamang lagay ng panahon. Ang cargo vessel ay nagmula sa Marala Port, Navotas City, at patungo sana sa Marcelo Port, Puerto Princesa City.

Sa kabutihang palad, ang lahat ng 19 na sakay ng barko, kabilang ang kapitan, ay nailigtas matapos magsagawa ng mabilis na search and rescue operation ang Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)-Roxas at Bantay Dagat-Roxas.

Sa kasalukuyan, ang mga nailigtas ay nasa kustodiya ng PCG-Roxas habang patuloy ang imbestigasyon sa insidente.
