𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 | The Deployment of Student Interns from the Mindanao State University-Sulu College of Education to the Senior High School Department was held at the University Cafeteria earlier this morning, starting at 7:30 a.m. There were 40 student interns who were oriented by Prof. Nurmini U. Supian, the SHS Secretary: 20 English Majors and 20 General Science Majors.

Among the individual present were the Training Supervisor, Prof. Abdulhan N. Jannaral, the Chairperson of General Science, Prof. Darwisa Sawadi, and the faculty members of the Senior High School Department.

𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄 | MSU-Sulu SHS Science Club holds its 7th Science Camp

On the first day of February 2025, the Science Club of Mindanao State University-Sulu Senior High School Department held its annual Science Camp celebration for its club officers and members with the theme " Explorers of the Unknown: Unlocking the Mysteries of Science" which took place at the MSU-Sulu SHS, Multi-purpose Hall at 9:00 A.M.

The event commenced with an invocation led by Mr. Alyasin Hadjiisah, one of the club's Bus. Managers, followed by an opening remarks from the current President, Ms. Nurennor Bahaluddin. Then, the STEM Coordinator, Prof. Nurhida J. Alih delivered her short speech. Afterwards, the program proceeded to perform their activities, which was divided into two additional sessions.

In the morning, two resource speakers featured the event as they lectured on science-related topics. Ms. Murmina B. Salim, one of the former presidents of the Science Club, gave lectures on Artificial Intelligence, also mostly known as AI, followed by Mrs. Narsima A. Sabbaha, one of the SHS faculty members who spoke about Genetics.

In the afternoon session, the event showcased a range of science-related games and activities, which were spearheaded by Ms. Karsa A. Pajiri, one od the former presidents of the said club, and the current president, Ms. Nurennor J. Bahaluddin. The announcement of the winners of the games was held afterward.

Thereafter, the club had a distribution of certificate for the guest, and its officers and members, acknowledging the importance of their presence in the event. The program ended with a closing remarks from the current external vice president, Mr. Benhasher Mawan, and a message from the adviser of the Science Club, Mrs. Maryjoy A. Busaña-Ibno, emphasizing to the club members that a certificate is not just a piece of paper, but a testament to their hard work.

In addition, Mr. Wannur Muizuddin was the master of the ceremony. The said event concluded at 5:00 P.M.

𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄 | MSU-Sulu SHS Convocation : A Celebration of Achievement

The Mindanao State University-Sulu Senior High School department honored over 200 high-achieving students in a vibrant ceremony marking its first-semester convocation on January 28, 2025, held at the MSU-Sulu Gymnasium from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

The program commenced with an invocation led by Ahmadnaj U. Habibon of STEM 1-12, the singing of the National Anthem and the MSU-Sulu hymn. It was then followed by an opening remarks given by Prof. Nurhida J. Alih, STEM Coordinator. Moreover, Dr. Rafael A. Ragellena, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, then delivered an inspiring speech, setting a positive tone for the day.

The awards ceremony started with the recognition of GAS 11 students, where 22 students earned "With Honors" and were acknowledged by their respective strand coordinators. This was followed by the recognition of the single GAS 11 student who achieved "With High Honors." The ceremony continued with the recognition of STEM 11 students, where 8 were awarded "With High Honors" and 30 received "With Honors."

A brief intermission performance by Junalyn Samad and Alnasrif Sali of the KCC Club provided a lively break before the awards resumed. Next, the GAS 12 students were recognized with 59 "With honors," and 2 "With High Honors." This was followed by the recognition of STEM 12 students, where 127 students earned "With Honors" and 20 achieved "With High Honors”.

Before the program ended, Mr. Almudzrin Arip, a faculty member, displayed an uplifting performance that resonated with the audience. The, Prof. Nurkintam U. Amirul, the Assistant Coordinator for GAS/HUMSS Strand, delivered heartfelt closing remarks, bringing the event to a celebratory conclusion.

𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | MSU-Sulu SHS Students Present Research Proposals

Mindanao State University-Sulu Senior High School Grade 12 students from both Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and General Academic Strand (GAS) presented their research proposals on January 15 and 16, 2025, at the MSU-Sulu SHS New Building.

The presentations were devided into sessions to properly accommodate the students. On January 15th, GAS 1-12 and STEM 2-12 presented their proposals from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. In the afternoon of the same day, GAS 2-12 and STEM 3-12 presented their research. Finally, students of GAS 3-12 concluded the proposal defense on January 16th, presenting from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Furthermore, faculty members served as panelists, providing valuable feedbacks for the improvement of the research papers of the students. Members of the school's research club facilitated the event.

𝐃𝐢𝐧𝐠! 𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 🔔

Heads up, SHS Students! We have arrived again at a juncture where the research paper defense will take place in the halls of Mindanao State University-Sulu Senior High School department.

Tomorrow, January 15, the Proposal Defense of the 12th graders coming from the two strands, STEM and GAS, will finally begin. The faculty of the said department will serve as the panelists to question and evaluate the performances of the young researchers and the quality of their papers.

Students, do not forget to review and make sure that all of your materials are well-prepared and ready to be proposed and defended. Take a deep breath and face this proposal defense with confidence and an open mind.

This proposal defense will serve as your stepping stone in the field of research, so remember to learn, use your resources, and make the most out of it. Take this as a chance to gain a better understanding of various ideas and issues as young researchers of this institution. Pray and give your best.

𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | MSU Sulu SHS Holds Enrollment for Second Semester

The Mindanao State University - Sulu Senior High School department recently held its enrollment for the second semester of the Academic Year 2024-2025.

On January 06 and 07, student's evaluation were released for the Grade 11 and Grade 12 students, respectively. The enrollment period spanned from Jan. 08 to 10, 2024.

On January 08, the enrollment for Grade 11 students commenced. Followed by the enrollment of STEM Students of Grade 12 on January 09, and enrollment of the Grade 12 GAS Strand on January 10. The event took place at the Old Biology Building, MSU-Sulu.

The Senior High School students followed a step-by-step process of enrollment. The process were managed by the SHS faculty, together with the Supreme Student Council who were also present during the enrollment to facilitate and assist the students.
