Marketing challenges is inevitable for every startup platform: limited budget and resources as well as the strong need to build brand visibility
Here are some common marketing mistakes that every startup makes and how to avoid them.
1. Spending money on big marketing
Spending too much too soon may lead to exhaustion. Yes, spending big money to boost your brand may give you success but you may not be capable to meet the new demands.
You need to do research and test your community. Know your target audience. Focus on content marketing and use low cost or free tools.
2. Speaking through the wrong people.
As I've mentioned earlier, know your audience. Highly likely that you'll get multiple target audience and each of them needs their own channel.
There are countless marketing services out there but which one will grab your target audience's attention and could give the best return.
Don't rush.
3. Chasing competitors.
Part of building a business is knowing who your competitors are and what they do.
Do not copy them. Learn from them. Find ways to do better. Put your own style and be creative.
4. Failing to measure results.
You don't spend money for nothing. You need returns.
For every campaign you make you need results to see if you made a return on your investment. Or if you need to relaunch a new marketing strategy for your product.
Mistakes mentioned above are inevitable but preventable. It won't end your business if you do them. As long as you know full well when to rethink as you move forward.
