‼️WEEKEND WORD
Return

📖 When Joseph and Mary had done everything required by the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee to their own town of Nazareth. And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him. (Luke 2:39-40 NIV)

The holidays bring excitement, time off work, and meaningful moments with family and friends as we praise God for His gift of Jesus. However, once the festivities end, we all have to return to our daily routines. Similarly, after the extraordinary events surrounding Jesus' birth, Mary and Joseph had to return to their quiet provincial life. It was in this normal setting where Jesus grew up.

Many live with FOMO—“Fear of Missing Out”—chasing excitement and avoiding commitment. Yet, aside from a single story at age 12, the Bible shows Jesus' childhood as uneventful. This time might be considered boring by some, but it wasn't wasted time. Luke says it was a period of growth for Jesus. He grew physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. A key truth to remember is that maturity develops more in the routine of fulfilling our daily responsibilities than in the exciting moments. Returning to normal life after the holidays may not be thrilling, but it is vital for growth.

As we resume our regular ministry schedules, let’s embrace the routine as an opportunity for physical, spiritual, and emotional development. - Keith Garner

‼️WEEKEND WORD
Let’s Go!

📖 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about." (Luke 2:15 NIV)

There’s something exciting about hearing “Let’s go”—it affirms a good idea and reflects anticipation for a meaningful, memorable, and fun experience.

In Luke 2, the shepherds were simply going about their nightly routine: preparing the flock, choosing their watch, and settling in by the fire. Suddenly, an incomparable light appeared, and angels proclaimed the good news of the Savior’s birth. The shepherds rose with great expectation, saying, “Let’s go.”

May we respond the same way. When pastors preach and invite us to seek the Lord, when a need arises and someone suggests prayer, or when leaders cast a challenging vision, may we boldly say, “Let’s go,” trusting the Holy Spirit’s leading.

As we minister this week, let’s go and be part of all God is doing among us. - Keith Garner
