📖 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. (Luke 2:4-5)
Does anyone dislike free stuff? In church ministry, shareware, open-source tools, and free trials are a blessing. But what happens when the trial ends? Do we create a new email address and re-register, find a different free trial, or resort to piracy?
Consider another scenario: buying a monitor from a supplier. They might ask, "Do you want an O.R. or just an acknowledgment receipt?" The latter avoids tax, reducing costs for both you and the supplier. While tempting, this is corruption.
If we're frustrated with government corruption, we must reflect: are we contributing to a culture of corruption? Joseph’s journey to Nazareth for the census, despite its inconvenience, ensured he paid his taxes. He fulfilled his duty, following the law. As Jesus said, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s” (Mark 12:17).
This week, let’s reflect on areas where we need to “register” and uphold integrity.

📖 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. (Mark 1:35 NIV)
A young man came to my apartment seeking advice about his relationships. Noticing his exhaustion and lack of his usual energy, I focused on his well-being instead. I asked about his diet and sleep habits, discovering he was neglecting these essentials, including his favorite stress-relief activity, walking.
As servant leaders, we often overlook our own needs, but ministry work is draining. We're expected to bring energy, encouragement, and spiritual support to others, yet we can't give what we don't have. Just as pre-flight safety presentation advises us that in the event of an emergency, to put on our oxygen mask first, we must prioritize self-care. Even Jesus retreated to solitary places to recharge emotionally and spiritually.
This week, remember it’s okay to take time for yourself. When we’re rested, nourished, and spiritually renewed, we can better handle challenges and offer genuine hope and encouragement. - Keith Garner

📖 When it was time for Elizabeth to have her baby, she gave birth to a son. Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown her great mercy, and they shared her joy. (Luke 1:57-58)
We live in a highly competitive world, where everyone strives to achieve the elusive goal of success. A true measure of our spiritual maturity is revealed in how we respond when someone else attains what we deeply desire. Do our feelings toward others sour when they achieve a higher GPA, receive a prestigious honor, or are selected for a promotion over us? Do we harbor resentment when they find a significant other, get engaged, or experience a blessing before we do?
This struggle can even extend into spiritual matters. What happens when someone else’s prayer is answered before ours, their loved ones come to faith first, or their family member receives healing while ours still waits? If we’re not vigilant, such feelings can lead us to not only resent others but even question God’s goodness.
In the story of Elizabeth, her neighbors and family saw that the Lord had shown her mercy by giving her a child. Mercy is something everyone needs, so why did she receive it and not others? Instead of falling into bitterness or jealousy, they chose to share in her joy.
As we serve this week, let’s guard our hearts when a fellow teammate receives something we long for. Let’s surrender to God’s perfect plan, trusting His timing and wisdom. Then, let’s celebrate with others and share in their joy. - Keith Garner

Excellence
Media can be almost mindlessly created. Through producing quality, award-winning content, we strive to represent our Creator well.
Innovation
Media constantly changes. Our team adapts to cultural and technological trends to communicate His Message in an ever-changing world.
