INTRODUCING: The PaperKat Books Entry-Level Mentoring Program

Leaders create more leaders. In the past few years, I've been training "generals" who can run the empire even in my absence. There are many generals in training, and so far, these 6 authors are ready to transition from "mentees" to "mentors".

I want to formally introduce the PaperKat Books Entry-Level Mentoring Program, which is the first step to publishing with our team. My senior editor, Paula Abiog, and I developed a system that will help us better prepare aspiring authors for what's in store in the program.

Here, 6 PaperKat Books Mentors will "mentor" aspiring authors for 1 month and prepare them for the road ahead. A Certificate of Completion will be provided as well as a Letter of Recommendation, which authors need to enroll in the intensive "All-In PaperKat Books Self-Publishing and Mentoring Program".

Trivia: I've been watching the K-drama SkyCastle these past few days. In several episodes, they keep hinting that teaching other people what you know is one of the best ways to retain/improve your knowledge about a certain topic. Additionally, my sales mentor advised me that if you want to increase your authority in the field, teach what you know.

I taught (and continue to teach) what I know to my mentees.
Now, they're ready to do the teaching.

We're happy to announce our 111th mentee in PaperKat Books, C.J. Edmunds. We've collaborated with C.J. since November 2023, and we're thrilled to finally announce him as a mentee, finally!

About The Author

C.J. never thought he'd be an author someday, but he always loved the feel and the comfort of having a book in his hands. Be it a hardbound, a paperback, or an ebook, he never leaves home without a book.

C.J. is the founder of his own reader's group, Anne Rice Philippines, devoted to the works of bestselling author, Anne Rice. He is a member of Justice PH (a DC cosplaying group in Manila), the Philippine Tolkien Society, and the Philippine Lightsaber Guild.

By day, C.J. is a voice actor who busies himself with being the host of the Urban Fantasy PH podcast on Spotify, Anchor, and Radio Public as well as other podcast sites. The show, which is in its 6th season already, aims to promote and share the works of Filipino creatives including authors, illustrators, comic book creators, filmmakers, and more.

C.J. is the author of standalone books “Take Me Now” and “Sojourn” published under his own imprint, SPINE Books. His novella, "The Elder and The Rat" is included in the YA fantasy anthology set, Akean Tales.
