Yesterday, I posted a job hiring and within a few hours my partner received tons of applications.

But here's his feedback and I'd love to tackle this one by one.

1. Follow instructions - When the requirement says CV & audio recording, make sure you submit both. No matter how equipped your CV is, it won't make sense kung kulang. First thing you need to master is the art of following instructions. Madaming madaming instructions ang kailangang ifollow sa buhay VA. Kung sa pagaapply pa lang hindi ka na marunong sumunod, how would you stand out?

2. Be Prepared - Nagsubmit kayo ng application, pero forwarded lang galing sa ibang application nyo, walang subject o di kaya naman nagsend ng attachment pero wala ng sinabi. Lagyan natin ng effort ang application. When applying for a job, FIRST IMPRESSIONS LAST. So make a good impression and stand out. Write a short introduction of yourself, Maglagay kayo ng something that would tell the hiring manager that you know what you are applying for.

3. Never use your unfortunate story sa pagaapply. Do not include anything that WILL NOT ADD VALUE in your application especially sob stories. As much as I hate to say it, They don't care. They do not care about your personal lives, kapag nagaapply kayo, they only care about WHO WILL BE A GREAT FIT FOR THE JOB POST.

4. That job hiring accept newbies, pero ung newbies na ready. Ready to learn, to grow, to challenge themselves. Pero if magaapply ka tapos papangunahan mo na ng "Ndi naman ako matatanggap dyan, kasi newbie lang ako." You already gave up without a fight. Make sure na ready ka na and kaya mo ang challenges that comes with the application, the interview, the job itself.

Sabi nga, God/universe only pour blessings to those who are ready to receive it.

So be ready and act like you already got it.

I've been battling a lot over the past few weeks. My emotions are all over the place. I'm not sure if I am pursuing the right path or doing the right thing.

Nasa point na ako na I am questioning my abilities and skills. Nasa point na din ako that I am comparing myself to others.

I don't know, but I guess meron talagang times na iisipin mo yung mga ganung bagay, especially when you hit rock bottom. Let's not be hypocritical.

But days keep moving. Ang bilis tumakbo ng oras.

And you're still alive kahit gusto mo na sumuko. But you need to continue.

Why am I sharing this note?

Nilagay ko talaga tong note in front of me para makita ko everytime kinakahaban ako at nilalamon ako ng lupa 😅

Eto yung naging lakas ko to face my biggest fear.

The biggest fear that turns out to be the biggest win.

I know I still have a loooong way to go. Sobrang haba pa nitong iyakan sessions and self-questioning.

But you know what? You just need to have at least ONE PERSON who will believe in you.

Even if that ONE PERSON is YOURSELF.

Today, I still can't believe that there are people who will appreciate my abilities.

Which leads me to another realization >>>

Last time I remember isang client lang ang meron ako at basic lang ang mga tasks na ginagawa ko, copy paste lang from one tool to another. Masaya naman ako kasi wfh setup rin siya.

Kaso I realized na wala pala akong growth sa ganong setup. And as a someone na uhaw learnings at pera charot. I decided to spread my wings and fly. 🤣

Ngayon may multiple clients na ako at andaming tasks. Yay! Pag may nakita akong gusto kong ma achieve pinaghihirapan ko talaga at pinag aaralan. Pero syempre with guidance ni Lord naaachieve ko. 🤍

Iba talaga pag lumabas ka sa comfort zone mo, nakikita mo ang sarili mo na natututo sa ibat-ibang bagay. In short gumugrow ka pero ang height mo hindi. (Opo frustrated comedian ako) 😅

Kaya ikaw galaw galaw rin, wag puro manifesting and take actions. Lights, camera, action na agad!!

Hindi ko akalaing this job post would change the course of my life forever.

Bago pa pumasok ung January, I had 6 clients. Nakaka6 digit naman pero sabit na lang, puro kasi sila flexi and pakiramdam ko unstable kaya nung mga panahon din na yon gusto ko makahanap ng full time, ung 8 hours daily. I made it a habit na magapply apply everyday pagpasok ng January, naalala ko pa nga meron akong interview na ghinost ako at hindi ako sinipot, meron din naman ung gustong gusto ko ung role pero sasabihan ako na they found a more suitable person for that role.

Pero 2023 yan ng January, may mga New Year's resolution pa akong pinapanindigan nyan like "Ndi ako maggive up" so nagpatuloy lang ako. Apply dito, interview doon. Send lang ng send ng proposal.

Until, nakita ko to. "Uy kaya ko to ah." Fresh na fresh ung post, applyan ko nga. and then waiting.....

Kinabukasan pa sila nagreply. akala ko pa nga isa sya sa mga applications kong waley. Pero kinilig ako ng nagreply. kinabahan ako. scam ba to bat ganon? Madami syang questions sa chat, pero walang video interview. Tapos wala pa syang desisyon, sabi lang nya okay. kasama daw ako sa top 3 na pinagpipilian nya. Pero ndi ako napanghinaan ng loob, sabi ko sa sarili ko, bakit top 3 lang ako, alam ko namang binigay ko best ko ah. Inask ko siya sabi ko, "In case you would not hire me, could you please tell me the reason why so I can learn from this interview?".

At aun, don ko nacaught ang attention nya, sabi nya "oh that's interesting, you know what? you're hired."

Pinagstart nya ako the following Monday and the rest is history.

Fun fact: nung hinire nila ako, sabi ndi daw ako pwedeng magdesisyon without running it by the CEO. After 2 months, they want me to call the shots. After exactly 1 year and 6 months, they want me to take over the full operations and even let me hire my own assistant. From Ops Man to COO na ang atake ng ante nyo 🥹

Nasulat ko to kasi alam nyo hanggang ngayon sinasampal ko pa ung sarili ko kung totoo lahat ng to. Parang kelan lang kasi pasuko na kami ni Naykka - VA Mom sa freelancing. Parang kelan lang nagpapaturo pa lang ako kay TitaPretty paano gumawang profile sa Upwork at parang kelan lang din sinasabihan pa ko ni Tita G. - Your VA Tita ng "bumangon ka na, dka pa mayaman."

Lord, Thank you! Sa blessings, opportunities at higit sa lahat sa support system ko (shawarawt, Babe) at sa inner circle ko (insert Mami Smile at Nicole) na sobrang supportive at mapagmahal. I cannot do this on my own. Kaya sobrang salamat, Lord! 🙏💚

Moral of the story:

1. Do not give up, you'll never know when it is the right one if you give up. Wala namang mawawala sa'yo, so why not go for it?

2. Give your best shot and believe in yourself. Sinong maniniwala sa'yo kung ikaw mismo iisipin mong waley ka? Say it out loud "I believe in me."

3. Ask the right questions. Ask for feedback, learn & grow from it.
