The Kapisanang SIDHA (Saysay, Isip, Diwa, Haraya at Adhika) Araling Panlipunan Club of Moonwalk National High School (MwNHS) formally closed the United Nations Month celebration on November 7, 2024, at the school grounds.
With the theme, โ๐๐จ๐๐ง๐๐ฉ๐๐ง๐๐ก๐ ๐ ๐๐จ๐๐ง๐จ๐ฅ๐ ๐ข๐ ๐ฃ๐๐๐๐," teachers and students gathered together to embrace the importance of harmony and mutual respect.

To help struggling readers become functionally literate, Moonwalk National High School (MwNHS) officially launched the program, ๐๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐ด๐ป๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ง๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐บ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ฆ๐๐๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ (๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ง๐ฆ), on October 16, 2024.
The English Department at MwNHS identified students with reading difficulty through the Group Screening Test (GST) and the Philippine Informal Reading Inventory (Phil-IRI) Pretest. They believe that everyone deserves the chance to become an independent reader. "๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ถ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ถ๐บ๐ฝ๐ผ๐ฟ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ ๐๐ธ๐ถ๐น๐น ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐๐ ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ฐ๐ต๐ผ๐ผ๐น ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐น๐ถ๐ณ๐ฒ," emphasized by Head Teacher Donalyn Nungay in her welcome remarks. During the launch of the event, students shared personal stories about their reading experiences. Master Teacher Fatima Garay expressed her words of encouragement, and spoke passionately about the importance of literacy and how DRIFTS would create a supportive learning environment. FLASH NEWS : MwNHS Celebrates World Teachers' Day (Part 2)
In a heartwarming tribute to teachers, the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) of Moonwalk National High School (MwNHS) organized a celebration for World Teachers' Day, which allowed student volunteers, affectionately called "Little Teachers," to take over classes for the day. This aimed to give teachers a well-deserved break and recognize their invaluable contributions to the lives of students.
The event kicked off early in the morning, with students eagerly preparing for their new roles. Volunteer students were assigned to various classes and stepped into the shoes of their teachers to lead lessons, conduct discussions, and engage with their classmates and schoolmates.
The SSLG emphasized that this event was more than just a break for teachers. โWe wanted to create a space where students could express their gratitude for all our teachers' daily hard work. โWe believe that by allowing students to teach, they will gain a greater appreciation for the dedication and effort that goes into education," said Nikeisha Nalangan, P.I.O. of the Supreme Secondary Learner Government. #TeachersAppreciationDay
