The Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa Program dispatched beneficiaries to the provinces of Misamis Oriental, Agusan del Sur, Lanao del Norte and Bukidnon at the BP2 Depot in Agham Road, Quezon City on May 30-31, 2022.
Institutionalized by virtue of Executive Order (EO) No. 114, series of 2020, the Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa Program is an initiative of the national government created to address the congestion in Metro Manila’s urban areas by encouraging the public, especially those in informal settlements, to return to their home provinces and guide them throughout this transition by providing additional support and incentives on transportation, livelihood, family needs, subsistence, education, housing and others.
The beneficiaries of this event were directed to the program’s usual dispatch procedures prior to their departure.

Today is a day of celebration!
Approximately two (2) months before the end of the Duterte Administration, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) conducts the formal commissioning of its first 97-meter multi-role response vessel (MRRV) into the Coast Guard service – the Barko ng Republika ng Pilipinas (BRP) Teresa Magbanua, named after one of the strongest and bravest female warriors in Philippine history.
On behalf of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade leads the commissioning ceremony at Pier 15 within Port Area, City of Manila on May 6, 2022.
Embassy of Japan Charge D’ Affaires Yasushi Yamamoto, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Chief Representative Takema Sakamoto, and Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. President and Chief Executive Officer Toru Kitamura also grace today’s momentous event.
The BRP Teresa Magbanua (MRRV-9701) has a maximum speed of not less than 24 knots, an endurance of not less than 4,000 nautical miles, and is capable of conducting sustained maritime patrols in the country’s maritime jurisdictions.
It is modeled after the Japan Coast Guard (JCG) Kunigami-class vessels and is expected to improve the PCG's maritime security and maritime safety operations in the vast exclusive economic zone of the country.
The second 97-meter MRRV that will be commissioned as BRP Melchora Aquino (MRRV-9702) is slated to arrive in Manila next month.
The BRP Teresa Magbanua (MRRV-9701) and BRP Melchora Aquino (MRRV-9702) are part of the DOTr’s Maritime Safety Capability Improvement Project (MSCIP) Phase II to intensify the modernization of the PCG.

Sa pangunguna ni Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade, isinasagawa ang Contract Signing para sa dalawang istasyon (Ortigas at Shaw Stations), kabilang ang tunnels ng Contract Package 104 (CP104) na bahagi ng Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP) Phase 1 sa EDSA Shangri-La, Lungsod Mandaluyong ngayong ika-5 ng Mayo 2022.
Kasama ni Secretary Tugade sina Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines, His Excellency Kazuhiko Koshikawa, at ang nanalong contractor ng CP104 na Tokyu-Tobishima Megawide Joint Venture (TTM-JV) sa signing ceremony na ito. Saksi rin ang mga opisyal ng DOTr at mga kinatawan mula sa Embahada ng Japan, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) at private partners ng proyekto.
Sakop ng CP104 ang kontrata sa pangunahing pagtatayo ng dalawang underground stations at tunnel sa Ortigas North at Ortigas South.
Tunghayan din ang paglalagda sa mga Right-of-Way Usage Agreements (ROWUA) sa pagitan ng DOTr at ng iba’t ibang korporasyon kabilang ang Robinsons Land Corporation, Ortigas & Company Limited Partnership, Blemp Commercials of the Philippines at Megaworld Corporation. Ang ROWUA ang magbibigay-daan sa DOTr upang mapabilis ang konstruksyon ng MMSP.
