𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗣𝗨𝗣𝗨𝗚𝗔𝗬 𝗦𝗔 𝗠𝗚𝗔 𝗕𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗡𝗜 𝗡𝗚 𝗕𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗡! 🫡🇵🇭

Kasalukuyang iginugunita ang Araw ng mga Bayani ngayong Agosto 26, taong 2024, bilang pag-alala sa mga yumaong bayani na taos-pusong nag-alay ng kanilang buhay at paninindigan upang makamit ang kalayaan ng Pilipinas noong panahon ng pananakop.

Unang iprinoklama ang selebrasyong ito noong 1931, kung saan ang araw ng selebrasyon ay pinili ni dating Pangulo Emilio Aguinaldo upang bigyang-karangalan at pag-alala ang marka ng simula ng rebolusyon para sa kalayaan noong 1896. Ang kaganapang ito ang naging sentrong dahilan upang magsagawa ng komemorasyon sa kabayanihang ipinakita ng ating mga bayani.

Bilang pasasalamat, mahalagang isaisip at isapuso natin ang pagdiriwang na ito, sapagkat ang iniwang marka ng kanilang pagkatao ay sumisimbolo sa katatagan at katapangan ng mga Pilipino noon, na nagpakita ng kanilang determinasyon upang makamit ang kalayaan na ating tinatamasa ngayon.

THE FILIPINO IS WORTH DYING FOR - AQUINO

Sa araw na ito ay idinaraos ang Ninoy Aquino's Day. Ito ay pag-aalala sa yumaong senador na si Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr noong araw ng 21 sa buwan ng Agosto 1983. Siya ay tanyag bilang isang senador na inuuna ang kapakanan at karapatan ng mamamayang Pilipino.

Kilala si Aquino bilang isang politiko, mamamahayag, at senador. Sa katunayan, nagsimula ang kaniyang interes na tumakbo bilang isang pampublikong opisyal sa edad na 17. Pinatunayan ni Aquino na hindi hadlang ang edad upang maging isang huwarang lider sa inang bayan.

Sa pagdiriwang na ito, ipakita natin ang katapangan na ipinamalas ni Aquino bilang isang tao na may malaking kontribusyon sa ating lipunan. Gaya nga sa iniwan niyang salita, "The Filipino is worth dying for." Bigyan natin ng pansin ang kadakilaan nito sa pagbabalik tanaw ng kaniyang buhay.

Agosto 15, 2024 - Idinaos ang misa ng paggunita para sa "Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary" na pinamunuan ni Rev. Fr. Rodolfo Barro, ang kasalukuyang rekto ng Our Lord's Transfiguration Parish sa Palo Metropolitan Cathedral.

Kasama sa paggunita ang pagpapanibago ng panata ng RVM Sisters at mga tauhan ng St. Mary's Academy of Palo Inc. (SMAP) para sa taong panuruan 2024-2025, at pati na rin ang oath-taking ng mga kasalukuyang nahalal na mga opisyal ng mga club at mga silid-aralan.

Bilang pag-ayon sa selebrasyon ng Buwan ng Wika na may temang "“𝙋𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙮𝙖 𝙨𝙖 𝘿𝙞𝙮𝙤𝙨 𝙖𝙩 𝙈𝙖𝙗𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙠𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙣𝙜𝙤 𝙨𝙖 𝙆𝙖𝙥𝙬𝙖: 𝙂𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙮 𝙨𝙖 𝙆𝙖𝙨𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙡𝙖𝙣 𝙣𝙜 𝘽𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙗𝙪𝙠𝙡𝙤𝙙 𝙣𝙜 𝙒𝙞𝙠𝙖.” ang paggunita ay kinalahukan ng mga mag-aaral at mga empleyado na itinampok ang kani-kanilang pambansang kasuotan.

August 15, 2024 - On this day, we celebrate the solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. At the end of her earthly life, Mary's body and soul were assumed into heaven.

This feast gives us hope and consolation and mourns for the loss of our loved ones but comforts us that they are not strayed. Believing that they enjoy their eternal afterlife with God.

𝐈𝐂𝐘𝐌𝐈: Luigi Rey Manlangit joined the Search for Mr. Enchanting Palo 2024 competition on August 3, 2024.

On the event's first question and answer portion, Mr. Manlangit was asked about being the youngest among the other participants. He said that it only shows his determination to win the tilt.

"Being the youngest here only shows how determined I am to be Mr. Enchanting Palo 2024," says Mr. Manlangit.

He was awarded 3rd Runner Up, Best in Production, Best in Summer Wear, and Gerald Roca Special Award.

August 3, 2024 - Mr. Luigi Rey Manlangit, a student from St. Mary's Academy of Palo, Inc., joined the Search Mr. Enchanting Palo 2024 tilt of the Local Government Unit of Palo. This event is in celebration of the town's feast, Feast of our Lord's Transfiguration last August 6, 2024.

Mr. Manlangit secured 3rd Runner Up and a few special awards; Best in Production, Best in Summer Wear, and Gerald Roca Special Award with cash prize.

Celebration of St. Mary's Academy of Palo Inc.'s (SMAP) 75th Anniversary as RVM-Administered School officially started through the ribbon cutting held in the afternoon of July 15, 2024. The said activity was participated by students, SMAP personnel, and the RVM Sisters.

Signifying the commencement of the 75th Anniversary week-long celebration, the ribbon cutting was done with the FCC Vice President and alumni; Engr. Benjie Guantero, Finance-in-Charge, S. Ma. Cristina Eguna, RVM, Local Superior, S. Ma. Fe. M. Saluta, RVM, and the Faculty President, Mrs. Lucille Cainong.

As the school commemorates this diamond milestone and kick-off this new academic year, 2024-2025, School Principal, S. Ma. Imelda Grace G. Dañas, RVM, gave her opening message.

"Let us create an environment where every student feels empowered to achieve our full potential both in our academics and moral values," S. Dañas said.

Followed by the opening, the introduction of the teaching and non-teaching personnel for the said academic year and the opening of the Nutrition Month celebration.

July 16, 2024 - St. Mary's Academy of Palo, Inc. (SMAP) commemorates Thanksgiving mass for its 75th Anniversary as RVM-Administered Institution at the Palo Metropolitan Cathedral with Rev. Msgr. Gilbert G. Urbina, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Palo, as the main celebrant and co-celebrated by SMAP Alumni priests.

The mass is co-celebrated by SMAP Alumni priests, Rev. Fr. Loreto P. Amante, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, V&G, Tacloban, City, Rev. Fr. Romy Salazar, Parish Priest of Holy Family Parish, Kangangga, Leyte, and Rev. Fr. Ferderiz Cantiller, CssR, Provincial Vocation Director of Cebu. It is also celebrated with the presence of Rev. Fr. Rodolfo Barro, Parish Priest of Our Lord’s Transfiguration Parish, Palo, Leyte.

According to Msgr. Urbina in his homily, the arrival of the RVM Sisters at Leyte Central Academy 75 years ago was a few years after the World War II. He also mentioned that the institution produced priests and nuns through the years

𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 𝗟𝗘𝗬𝗧𝗘 𝗖𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗟 𝗔𝗖𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗠𝗬 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗢 𝗦𝗧. 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗬’𝗦 𝗔𝗖𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗠𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗣𝗔𝗟𝗢, 𝗜𝗡𝗖.

This day marks the beginning of St. Mary’s Academy of Palo, Inc.'s 75th anniversary as RVM-Administered School. But, do we know how the school was established and named St. Mary’s Academy of Palo, Inc.?

It started in 1924, when Bishop Sofronio Hacbang, Bishop of Calbayog had an idea to establish a school which was then agreed by Mr. Alfredo Palencia, Sr., a Paloan-on, when they met in 1924. Rev. Fr. Pacoli the Parish Priest of Palo was authorized by Bishop Hacbang to use the parish funds for the plan to take shape. Then, the school was first administered by Rev. Fr. Pacoli and was named Leyte Central Academy.

After Municipal President Ricardo Mendiola secured the Government Permit for the school to operate, the school obtained a Government Recognition in July 1, 1946.

Through Rev. Mo. Ma. Andrea Montejo, RVM, Superior General, a native of Palo, Most Rev. Manuel Mascariñas requested The Congregation of Religious of the Virgin Mary to ask for their helping hand to operate the school. S. Ma. Emiliana San Juan, RVM, became the first RVM Principal.

In 1949, with the guidance of the head at that time, LCA victoriously celebrated the Silver Jubilee. The school also acquired 875 enrolment at the very same year, the highest ever recorded enrolment. Five years later, LCA was soon after became St. Mary of Palo after the Bishop of Palo, Most Rev. Lino R. Gonzaga, legally turned over the school to the RVM Congregation through a Deed of Donation.

Years later, specifically on the 15th of February 1957, the school was newly established and blessed in its new site with the help of RVM Superior, S. Ma. Justina Martinez, RVM. The school was then changed into St. Mary’s Academy.

As the years passed, many constructions and renovations occurred with the help of different heads and admins of the school.

Soon after, the school marked the Golden Jubilee as an RVM school, on August 2-3, 2000. When SMA underwent the renewal of the S.E.C. Registration and Government Recognition in March 2002, the school was named St. Mary’s Academy of Palo, Inc., legally and officially.
