Camp Sabido, Guipos – The 547th Engineer Battalion, under the leadership of LTC BENJAMIN B. CARAG II CE (GSC) PA, officially launched the Forward Logistics Support System (FLSS) 2023 Project at Camp Sabido, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur, on November 8, 2024.

The Groundbreaking Ceremony for the FLSS 2023 Project was graced by BGEN DARWIN F. HERNANDEZ PA, Commander of the 54th Engineer Brigade, Philippine Army, and attended by key figures including Mr. Gerald H. Sarmiento, Owner of Uniko Construction Company; Ms. Flor Cesa Dignos, Representative of GEG Builder and Construction Company; and LTC SHERYLL MAE O. SARMIENTO OS (GSC) PA, Acting Commanding Officer of the 9th Forward Support Supply Unit, ASCOM, PA.

The FLSS 2023 Project aims to bolster the logistical capabilities of the Philippine Army, enhancing operational readiness and ensuring that troops are equipped to respond swiftly and effectively to operational demands. This initiative is part of the Philippine Army’s ongoing efforts to modernize its logistical infrastructure to improve mission success and operational efficiency.

The 547th Agila Troopers will oversee the project, ensuring its specifications and timely completion. The initiative highlights the vital partnership between the Philippine Army and the private sector in strengthening national defense and supporting community security and development.

This groundbreaking ceremony underscores the Philippine Army’s commitment to improve the national defense security operations.

Kuta Dao, Pagadian City- The 547 Engineer “Agila" Battalion under the leadership of LTC BENJAMIN B CARAG II CE (GSC) PA provided humanitarian assistance to the victims of Typhoon Kristine in the Bicol Region from October 30 to 31 2024.

The humanitarian assistance initiative was spearheaded by the Office of Civil Defense Region IX, in collaboration with other Government Agencies in the province of Zamboanga del Sur. As a result, 200 non-food items, including family packs, and 75 blankets were delivered from the President Corazon C. Aquino Regional Government Center in Brgy. Balintawak, Pagadian City, to WESTMINCOM Port in Calarian, Zamboanga City. These supplies were then loaded to a Navy vessel for distribution to the victims of the said calamity in the Bicol Region.

This activity exemplifies the true values of the Filipino spirit, demonstrating our commitment to unity and cooperation in times of disaster and calamity.

The 547th Engineer Battalion remains dedicated in providing humanitarian assistance and services as part of our mission. We assure you of our continued partnership in serving the community in times of calamity while ensuring the security of our nation.

547th Engineer Battalion Trooper join the RAPID Growth Program Consumer Fun Run 2024 in Support of the ZAMBOSUR DTI celebration.

Kuta Dao, Pagadian City – The 547th Engineer (Agila) Battalion Troopers participated in the RAPID Growth Program Consumer Fun Run 2024, an event organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) celebrating consumer rights and responsibilities. Today, at the Provincial Capitol Compound in Pagadian City, this initiative aims to raise public awareness about the Eight Consumer Rights and Five Consumer Responsibilities through an engaging and fun-filled atmosphere.

The fun run features two race distances 8-kilometers and 5-kilometers which encouraged the participants of all ages and skill levels in the celebration of consumer awareness.

The event not only aims to encourage physical fitness but also highlights the importance of community spirit and collaboration. The troopers of the 547th Engineer (Agila) Battalion are committed to fostering relationships with local residents and participating in initiatives that promote well-being and unity.

In addition, the participants explored a Mini Trade Fair showcasing and promoting products from local entrepreneurs. This initiative provides local businesses with an opportunity to gain visibility and connect with potential customers, reinforcing the DTI's commitment to supporting economic growth and entrepreneurship within the community.

Agila Army Engineer swift rescue and clearing operation at Barangay Sta. Maria, Pagadian City.

Kuta Dao, Pagadian City - During the height of Bagyong Kristine on October 25, 2024, the 547th Engineer "Agila" Battalion DRO Team quickly rescued and cleared the two (2) houses that had been damaged by the uprooted tree at Barangay Sta. Maria, City of Pagadian.

The CDRRMO Operation Center of Pagadian City called the team prior to the aforementioned rescue to report that severe winds brought on by Bagyong Kristine had damaged houses. The DRO Team and CDRRMO carried out a road clearance operation during the aforementioned operation.

The unit remains committed to providing prompt rescues to those in need, particularly within its Area of Coverage, in light of the impending disasters that our country is and will face.

Kuta Dao, Pagadian City – 547th Engineer “Agila” Battalion, 54th Engineer “Sarangay” Brigade Philippine Army conducted Change of Command Ceremony of Bravo “Bulls” Company at Battalion Multi-Purpose Hall, Headquarters, 547EBn, Kuta Dao, Pagadian City on 07 October 2024.

The Change of Command Ceremony is a military tradition that represent a formal transfer of authority and responsibility of a unit from one officer to another. This momentous event was graced by LTC BENJAMIN B CARAG II CE (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer of this unit as the Presiding Officer.

During the said activity, CPT CLIMACO R RAMIREZ II (CE) PA, the Outgoing Commanding Officer of Bravo “Bulls” Company was awarded with Military Merit Medal and received plaque of recognition from the battalion for his exemplary leadership, unwavering dedication, and outstanding service as the Commanding Officer of said company that greatly contributed in the unit’s accomplishments.

Meanwhile, 1LT JAYSON S GALIDO (CE) PA, the newly installed Commanding Officer of Bravo “Bulls” Company accepted heartily the full responsibility as he received the Bravo Company unit color during the Ceremonial Turned-Over presided by LTC BENJAMIN B CARAG II CE (GSC) PA.

In his speech, LTC CARAG II emphasizes the importance of building the team through mutual understanding, to align with the commander’s intent in accomplishing the mission, to exercise team initiatives, and to practice prudent decision-making.
