MAYOR INDY OAMINAL PUSHES FOR BETTER EDUCATION WITH SMART TVs AND FREE WIFI IN OZAMIZ CLASSROOMS

Mayor Indy Oaminal has launched a significant initiative aimed at improving the education of young Ozamiznons by distributing 183 55-inch Smart Television sets to all Grade 1 and 2 public school classrooms across the city. This project reflects the mayor's commitment to enhancing the quality of education in Ozamiz, addressing the learning gaps exacerbated by the pandemic.
Mayor Oaminal, after extensive consultations with the Department of Education (DepEd) and other stakeholders, identified that one of the critical challenges faced by young learners is the deficiency in reading skills and comprehension. Recognizing the limitations posed by the previous distance learning setup, the mayor emphasized the need for innovative solutions to bridge these gaps.
The provision of Smart TVs to classrooms was seen as a strategic move to enhance the learning experience for students. These devices enable teachers to present more reading materials efficiently, avoiding the time-consuming process of writing on the board. Additionally, Smart TVs provide access to a wealth of online resources, further enriching the learning environment.
In conjunction with this initiative, Mayor Oaminal also oversaw the ceremonial turnover of various Free Wi-Fi spots and infrastructure projects to public schools in the city. This ensures that students and teachers have the necessary tools to adapt to modern educational methods and improve overall academic performance.
Mayor Oaminal's vision, supported by the strong partnership with DepEd Ozamiz City Division under the leadership of Schools Division Superintendent Nimfa Lago, is to ensure that every young Ozamiznon receives the best possible education. His administration's proactive measures and investment in educational infrastructure underscore a long-term commitment to the academic success of the city's youth.
