CONGRESSMAN ANDO OAMINAL’S LIFESAVING EFFORTS FOR “BLUE BABY” SHOWCASE STRONG PARTNERSHIP WITH MAYOR INDY OAMINAL AND GOVERNOR HENRY OAMINAL

Ozamiz City | via Bhal Cabrera | September 6, 2024

In an inspiring display of compassion and commitment to public service, Congressman Ando Oaminal, together with Ozamiz City Mayor Atty. Indy Oaminal and Governor Henry Sevilla Oaminal, successfully facilitated the open-heart surgery of a two-year-old child with congenital heart disease. This joint effort between key leaders highlights not only their dedication to healthcare but also the strong partnership within Misamis Occidental’s Asenso Administration, whose initiatives are making a lasting impact on the lives of every Misamisnon.

Baby Vince Enorio Montalban, a two-year-old diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot, a severe congenital heart defect, was born at the MHARS Medical Center. The condition, which results in cyanotic or “blue” skin due to a lack of oxygen, deeply worried his mother, Ms. Juvy Ann Bitay Enorio. Early on, doctors had advised Vince’s family that surgery was the only way to save his life, but due to financial constraints, they were unable to proceed.

The family’s turning point came when a former barangay captain, John Docdor, guided them toward the Asenso Free Hospitalization Program — a brainchild of the Oaminal administration. Congressman Ando Oaminal swiftly took action, covering all the medical expenses for the open-heart surgery at the Philippine Heart Center. He also extended financial assistance for transportation to and from Manila, as well as their living expenses during the family’s stay in the capital.

This medical intervention not only saved Baby Vince’s life but also underscored the powerful collaboration between Congressman Ando Oaminal, Mayor Atty. Indy Oaminal, and Governor Henry Oaminal. Their collective effort ensures that no Misamisnon is left without hope when faced with life-threatening health challenges.
“We owe everything to Congressman Ando and the Asenso Administration. They gave my child a second chance at life, and I can never thank them enough,” said an emotional Ms. Juvy Ann Enorio, reflecting the gratitude shared by countless families in the region.

This case is a testament to the administration’s overarching goal of making quality healthcare accessible to all, regardless of their financial standing. Congressman Ando Oaminal’s swift action in facilitating Baby Vince’s surgery is just one of many examples where the collaborative efforts of local leadership are creating a direct, positive impact on the lives of the people they serve.

The partnership between the Oaminal family and the local government continues to be a beacon of hope for the people of Misamis Occidental. It delivers tangible results in the form of healthcare, economic assistance, and overall well-being for all Misamisnons. Through programs like the Asenso Free Hospitalization Program, it is demonstrating that government initiatives, when backed by genuine concern, can improve lives.

MAYOR INDY OAMINAL PUSHES FOR BETTER EDUCATION WITH SMART TVs AND FREE WIFI IN OZAMIZ CLASSROOMS

Ozamiz City | via Bhal Cabrera | August 21, 2024

Mayor Indy Oaminal has launched a significant initiative aimed at improving the education of young Ozamiznons by distributing 183 55-inch Smart Television sets to all Grade 1 and 2 public school classrooms across the city. This project reflects the mayor's commitment to enhancing the quality of education in Ozamiz, addressing the learning gaps exacerbated by the pandemic.

Mayor Oaminal, after extensive consultations with the Department of Education (DepEd) and other stakeholders, identified that one of the critical challenges faced by young learners is the deficiency in reading skills and comprehension. Recognizing the limitations posed by the previous distance learning setup, the mayor emphasized the need for innovative solutions to bridge these gaps.

The provision of Smart TVs to classrooms was seen as a strategic move to enhance the learning experience for students. These devices enable teachers to present more reading materials efficiently, avoiding the time-consuming process of writing on the board. Additionally, Smart TVs provide access to a wealth of online resources, further enriching the learning environment.

In conjunction with this initiative, Mayor Oaminal also oversaw the ceremonial turnover of various Free Wi-Fi spots and infrastructure projects to public schools in the city. This ensures that students and teachers have the necessary tools to adapt to modern educational methods and improve overall academic performance.

Mayor Oaminal's vision, supported by the strong partnership with DepEd Ozamiz City Division under the leadership of Schools Division Superintendent Nimfa Lago, is to ensure that every young Ozamiznon receives the best possible education. His administration's proactive measures and investment in educational infrastructure underscore a long-term commitment to the academic success of the city's youth.

OZAMIZ CITY MAYOR COMMENDS NEW POLICE CHIEF, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO CITY’S PEACE AND ORDER

Ozamiz City | via Bhal Cabrera | August 16, 2024

Ozamiz City Mayor Atty. Indy Oaminal has announced the continuation of his monthly situational briefings with the city’s new Chief of Police, PLTCol. Harvey Abellanosa. The announcement was made through his official social media platform, where he emphasized the importance of these briefings in maintaining the city's peace and order.

This practice, which Mayor Oaminal started with the previous Chief of Police, PMaj. Dennis Tano, who now leads the Second District Police Mobile Force Command, has proven to be a crucial tool in the city's efforts to keep crime at bay. The mayor highlighted that these monthly briefings, along with the daily situational reports from the Chief of Police, provide him with a clear understanding of the city's current security landscape. This allows him to identify necessary actions and interventions to further enhance the city's safety.

"We’ll continue to do this so as not to waste the gains accumulated during the tenure of PMaj. Tano," Mayor Oaminal stated. He expressed his satisfaction with PLTCol. Abellanosa's performance less than a month into his term, noting that the new Chief of Police has already overseen four successful buy-bust operations, among other initiatives, to address emerging issues.

The mayor expressed confidence that the city’s law and order would continue to improve under PLTCol. Abellanosa's leadership, ensuring that the progress made during PMaj. Tano's tenure is not lost. "Thankfully, murag wala ray masayang. I am thus confident na magpadayon ra ghapon ang kahusay ug kalinaw sa Ozamiz," Oaminal remarked, reaffirming his commitment to sustaining the peace and tranquility in Ozamiz City.
