Linkin Park is making a comeback with a new lineup, releasing their first new music since the passing of lead singer Chester Bennington in 2017.
Their fresh single entitled โThe Emptiness Machine,โ and their upcoming album, From Zero, are set to release on November 15.
On Thursday, the band held a livestream to introduce their new singer, Emily Armstrong, and drummer, Colin Brittain. They join returning members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix, and Joe Hahn, as the band gears up for a fresh chapter in their career.
Mike Shinoda and new member Emily Armstrong will share vocal duties in this new chapter for the band. Armstrong, known for her work with alt-rock band Dead Sara, joins Linkin Park alongside Colin Brittain, a producer and songwriter who has collaborated with artists like Papa Roach, One OK Rock, and All Time Low. Brittain replaces original drummer Rob Bourdon, who has chosen to step away from the group, according to a statement from the band.
Linkin Park was one of the most popular bands of the 2000s, with Chester Benningtonโs vocals helping drive their success. Bennington passed away at 41 in 2017, shortly after the release of their last album, One More Light. Since then, the band has released special editions of Hybrid Theory, Meteora, and this yearโs greatest hits collection, Papercuts.
Shinoda expressed excitement about the new lineup, saying, โThe more we worked with Emily and Colin, the more we loved their talent and what we created together. Weโre blending the sounds people know us for while exploring new ideas.โ
In addition to the album, Linkin Park has announced the From Zero World Tour, with arena shows in Los Angeles, New York, Hamburg, London, and Seoul happening this month, and a final show in Bogotรก, Colombia, in November.
