Nagising ka ng 7:30 tapos sumilip ka sa bintana pero malakas parin ang ulan at napakalamig ng panahon. Kaya ang ginawa mo eh nag taklob ka muna ng kumot para mainitan ka tapos mga 8 ng umaga bumangon kana para mag almusal ng pancit canton at itlog na may milo pang mainit na hinanda pa ng nanay mo para sayo, habang nanonood ng favorite mo na anime sa umaga tulad ng voltes v o doraemon.

Nakakamiss ung araw araw mong daily routine. Wala kang iniisip na iba kundi mga school activities lang. Walang stress, walang mabigat sa loob, walang iniisip na kung ano kakainin sa kinabukasan. Nakakamiss maging bata. Life was simple and so good...

Kuys Alam nyo ba?

Noong Agosto 24, 1896, dumating ang mga Katipunero (rebolusyonaryo) sa bahay ni Melchora Aquino sa Banlat (ngayon ay Tandang Sora District, Quezon City), na naging kanlungan ng mga maysakit at sugatang Katipunero.

Si Melchora Aquino, tanyag na tinatawag na Tandang Sora, dahil siya ay 84 na noong panahong iyon nang sumiklab ang Rebolusyong Pilipino noong 1896, ay may mahalagang papel sa rebolusyong Pilipino laban sa mga kolonyalistang Espanyol.

Pinakain niya, binigyan ng medikal na atensyon at pinasigla ang mga rebolusyonaryo sa pamamagitan ng maka-inang payo at panalangin; gayundin ang mga lihim na pagpupulong ng mga Katipunero ay ginanap din sa kanyang bahay. Sa pamamagitan ng mga ito, natamo niya ang titulong Grand Woman of the Revolution at ang Ina ng Balintawak para sa kanyang mga magiting na kontribusyon sa kasaysayan ng Pilipinas.

Inaresto at ipinatapon siya ng mga awtoridad ng Espanya sa Guam para sa kanyang pakikilahok sa rebolusyon. Noong 1903, pinayagan siya ng mga Amerikano at ang iba pang mga destiyero na bumalik sa Pilipinas.

Tinanggihan niya ang mga materyal na gantimpala mula sa gobyerno para sa kanyang makabayang mga serbisyo at sakripisyo.

Para sa kanya, hindi mahalaga ang mga gantimpala sa kabila ng katotohanan na siya ay nabubuhay sa kahirapan. Kuntento na siya sa katotohanang sinuportahan niya ang Katipunan.

Dahil sa kanyang kabayanihan, isang lugar sa Quezon ang ipinangalan sa kanya. Ang lugar ay kilala ngayon bilang Tandang Sora, Quezon City.

Namatay siya noong Marso 2, 1919 sa edad na 107.

Nakahimlay ang kanyang mga labi sa kanyang sariling bakuran (ngayon ay Himlayang Pilipino Memorial Park, Quezon City).

RIZAL FAMILY TREE

The Rizal's is considered one of the biggest families during their time. Domingo Lam-co, the family’s paternal ascendant was a full-blooded Chinese who came to the Philippines from Amoy, China in the closing years of the 17th century and married a Chinese half-breed by the name of Ines de la Rosa.

Jose Rizal came from a 13-member family consisting of his parents, Francisco Mercado II and Teodora Alonso Realonda, and nine sisters and one brother.

▪️FRANCISCO MERCADO (1818-1898)
Father of Jose Rizal who was the youngest of 13 off-springs of Juan and Cirila Mercado. Born in Biñan, Laguna on April 18, 1818; studied in San Jose College, Manila; and died in Manila.

▪️TEODORA ALONSO (1827-1913)
Mother of Jose Rizal who was the second child of Lorenzo Alonso and Brijida de Quintos. She studied at the Colegio de Santa Rosa. She was a business-minded woman, courteous, religious, hard-working and well-read. She was born in Santa Cruz, Manila on November 14, 1827 and died in 1913 in Manila.

▪️SATURNINA RIZAL (1850-1913)
Eldest child of the Rizal-Alonzo marriage. Married Manuel Timoteo Hidalgo of Tanauan, Batangas, and published Pascual H. Poblete's Tagalog translation of the Noli Me Tangere.

▪️PACIANO RIZAL (1851-1930)
Only brother of Jose Rizal and the second child. Studied at San Jose College in Manila; became a farmer and later a general of the Philippine Revolution and married Severina Decena.

▪️NARCISA RIZAL (1852-1939)
The third child. married Antonio Lopez at Morong, Rizal; a teacher and musician. Also, known as Dona Sisa and can recite from memory all the poems of Jose Rizal and married to Antonio Lopez.

▪️OLYMPIA RIZAL (1855-1887)
The fourth child. Married Silvestre Ubaldo; a telegraph operator in Manila died in 1887 from childbirth.

▪️LUCIA RIZAL (1857-1919)
The fifth child. Married Matriano Herbosa who died in cholera and was denied a Chirstian burial.

▪️MARIA RIZAL (1859-1945)
The sixth child. Married Daniel Faustino Cruz of Biñan, Laguna. The only sister of Rizal who lived up to 1950's.

▪️JOSE RIZAL (1861-1896)
The second son and the seventh child. He was executed by the Spaniards on December 30, 1896.

▪️CONCEPCION RIZAL (1862-1865)
The eight child. Died at the age of three.

▪️JOSEFA RIZAL (1865-1945)
The ninth child. An epileptic, died a spinster.

▪️TRINIDAD RIZAL (1868-1951)
The tenth child. Died a spinster and the last of the family to die.

▪️SOLEDAD RIZAL (1870-1929)
The youngest child married Pantaleon Quintero. Studied at La Concordia College where she and Leonor Rivera were classmates

Big Diomede is located on the Russian side while Little Diomede is on the US side. The ice bridge that forms between the two islands in winter makes it possible, although illegal, to walk the short distance between them and 'travel through time'
