Generational Competitiveness is not just building one batch of highly competitive players. it's a series of hyper-competitive players, of almost, or of higher skill, that are willing to take over someones slot when they graduate or age out. one must always have a firm grasp of what comes next. what comes after. relying on one set of players to keep on playing risks having a team that will later on field substandard slot fillers. this is where sports transcends the line between coaching and management. the "next in line" must always be dictated by skill, not by tenure.

in the same tone as "it takes a village to raise a child", it takes the whole team's vested interest in a beginner's growth to build a new teammate. its not just about forms and techniques and scores, it's also about being accepted into the fold. let's not forget that teams are, in essence, a social construct. and man, in his very core, is a social animal. societal expectations are easier to meet with the support of the society. teams only grow, evolve, with the team's blessing. and the way a team welcomes a beginner, sets the tone.
