Maine C***s are the largest domesticated cat breed, but not the way as advertised by many. Many people have a huge misconception about their size, primarily because people tend to show pictures that create an illusion of greater size rather than presenting the actual facts, as illustrated below.

On average, a fully grown male Maine C**n cat weighs between 15 and 25 pounds (6.8 to 11.34 kg) and measures between 10 and 16 inches in height. Female Maine C***s typically weigh between 10 and 15 pounds (4.5 to 6.8 kg) and reach a height of 8 to 14 inches at maturity.

Maine C***s are one of the few cat breeds that typically weigh more than 10 pounds in adulthood. It is not uncommon for a Maine C**n to weigh up to 30 pounds (13.6 kg), but cats at this weight are considered overweight or obese.

See the photo below. It shows the same cat being held by the same person. When the cat is positioned closer to the camera, it appears to be larger. This effect is simply a trick of perspective and an illusion.

Hope this has cleared up the misconception about how big Maine C**n cats are.
