Valentine’s Day Twist: Called to Love, Called to Serve 💞

Today, February 14, 2025, the Social Action Force organized a meaningful gift-giving event titled “Called to Love, Called to Serve.” The Social Action Force, a club from Technical High School, showed appreciation to the hardworking city service workers who help keep San Beda College Alabang a safe and welcoming place.

This event was more than just an act of generosity; it was a heartfelt expression of gratitude. By giving simple yet thoughtful gifts, the club members were able to brighten the day of those who often work behind the scenes. The initiative spread love and strengthened the community spirit, reminding everyone that Valentine’s Day is not just about romance but also about kindness, service, and appreciation for others.

In Action ⚙️🦁

The grade 12 Technical High School students are all “on duty” as they embark on one of the highlights of their high school experience, the Work Immersion. Equipped with the skills and knowledge of the specialized subjects their teachers and trainers shared; they are all set to apply these competencies throughout their On-the-Job Training.

The students under ICT Computer Programming with Computer System Servicing have displayed their ICT skills in Creotec Philippines Inc., Binan, Laguna. The learners under the Technical Drafting or Digital Architecture with Computer System Servicing program exhibit their proficiency in Architecture at GT Development Corporation in Tunasan, Muntinlupa City. Finally, students under the two programs, Cookery and Agriculture Crops Production, are showing off their proficiency in both aspects of their craft at the SVD Farm, Tagaytay.

In addition to the students’ Onsite work immersion, they had their in-house practice here in San Beda College Alabang before their on-site training.

The exposure to real-life work experiences synthesizes and embodies all the concepts these Tech High students learned throughout the classroom and laboratories, emphasizing the importance of authentic scenarios to achieve excellence in their respective fields.

St. Valentine: A Witness of True Love ❤️✝️

While love fills the hearts of all saints, St. Valentine is honored as the patron of lovers. According to tradition, he risked his life to secretly marry Christian couples during persecution, ultimately giving his life in martyrdom—the greatest act of love.

His witness reminds us that true love is not just romantic, but self-giving and rooted in Christ. This Valentine’s Day, may we rediscover the Christian meaning of love and marriage, reflecting the divine love for which we were created. 💕✨

📢 Health Break Advisory 🛑

To ensure the safety and well-being of our community, San Beda College Alabang has declared a Health Break from January 24 to 31, 2025 for the following academic departments:

✔ Integrated Basic Education Department (IBED)
✔ Technical High School
✔ Tertiary Schools (SASE, SBAM, SET)

🔴 During this period, all face-to-face, synchronous, and asynchronous classes, as well as school activities, will be suspended.

However, the Graduate School and the School of Law will continue their classes as scheduled.

This precautionary measure is due to the increase in cases of hand-foot-mouth disease reported among students. The health and safety of our stakeholders remain our top priority.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Stay safe, Bedans!
