Discovery of a 70,000-year-old preserved baby mammoth.

Do you Know Mammoths are older than humans? Yes that is a fact !

Before humans ever evolved on land mama's rules most of North America and Cold parts of Europe and Asia. Most of the fossils of oldest mammoths are commonly found in North America and on July 20th 2022 the oldest baby woolly mammoth was found in north Western Canada on mining field. The baby mammoth was perfectly preserved in a permafrost found near the gold reserves on mine. The scientist who found the woolly mammoth named him Nun Cho ga or in other words a Big Baby Animal.

What a discovery to see!

Since it's really hard to believe that a baby mammoth was perfectly preserved by years through a permafrost.

DYK?

Now this might sound crazy, but grasshoppers, surprisingly, possess a rather peculiar anatomical feature: they have auditory organs located in their abdomens, or, in other words, they have ears in their bellies.

Grasshoppers are a group of insects belonging to the suborder Caelifera. They are among what is possibly the most ancient living group of chewing herbivorous insects, dating back to the early Triassic, around 250 million years ago. As a matter of fact, grasshoppers existed long before the dinosaurs.

Grasshoppers lack the side ears that humans have on their heads. The hearing organs in grasshoppers are located on the abdomen, which is a pretty unique placement. There are membranes that vibrate in reaction to sound waves on each side of the first abdominal segment, tucked behind the wings. The grasshopper can hear the songs of its kin thanks to a rudimentary eardrum called a tympana.

Grasshoppers have ears, although they have poor pitch perception. The grasshopper's hearing organs are basic in design, like those of the majority of insects. They are able to distinguish variations in rhythm and intensity but not pitch. Since females aren't extremely picky about a man's singing ability, the song of the male grasshopper isn't particularly musical. Each species' song has a distinctive rhythm that sets it apart from others and helps courting males and females of that species locate one another.

TODAY'S SCIENCE TRIVIA:
Sapling of Existence: Do you know Coconut tree or Cocos Nucifera on its scientific name is also known as "The Tree of Life", it is also used in medical field as a blood plasma substitute?

Over 90% of coconut production comes from developing nations in Asia, with the Indonesia, Philippines, India, Brazil, and Sri Lanka being the world’s biggest exporters, most of the coconut are produced by small plantations that can be found in this countries.

Coconut oil can help in many different ways, inside and out. Cooking with the oil is a great alternative if there are worries of food allergies such as corn, soy, and peanuts. Using the oil on your skin can benefit tremendously, seeing as the water hydrates you, the coconut oil also hydrates your skin because it contains medium-chain fatty acids such as linoleic acid. Coconut oil is being used more and more in cosmetics in the most recent years, some of the famous cosmetic brands used it for their Lipsticks, Moisturizer and even Sunscreen. Coconut milk can be used as a great dairy alternative for baking, cooking, and even adding to your daily dose of coffee!

On the other hand the outer part of the coconut has been used for multiple things over many years. Long ago, fibers were used as parts of armor. More recently, it has been found that if you burn the husk, it makes a great insect repellent at your cookout or outdoor party. Other fun items made from husks and fibers are brushes, doormats, twine, particleboard, and even is material for mattresses and floor tiles.

Fun Fact even though there is a word "nut" in the coconut name because of its appearance but the coconut itself isn't a nut. Also the fruit is not specific enough for our scientist who explore this matter give the technical name of a drupe or stone fruit.

TODAY'S SCIENCE TRIVIA: Octopus keep surprising us: Do you know that octopuses have three hearts, blue blood, and a brain that looks like a doughnut?

Every ocean in the world has octopuses. Octopuses are marine animals that inhabit coastal waters. They spend a lot of time in dens, which are tiny fissures in coral and rock. They tend to be territorial and lonely.

The three hearts of an octopus play slightly distinct roles. While the other two pumps the blood past the gills to pick up oxygen, the other heart pumps blood throughout the body. The protein called hemocyanin, which transports oxygen throughout the octopus's body, looks blue because it includes copper rather than iron, as does our own hemoglobin.

The eight limbs that octopuses have are a well-known fact. But did you know that each arm has a "mini brain" of its own? Because of this configuration, octopuses can use their arms more swiftly and efficiently. Octopuses appear to have the advantage of having localized and centralized control over their behavior because of their nine brains.

As the nation prepares to celebrate National Heroes Day, we take a moment to honor and commemorate the unsung pillars of our nation. Highlighting the significance of this occasion, it strikes as a reminder of the sacrifices and contributions of the courageous individuals who ultimately shaped our nation’s destiny as a whole.

Through the course of time, these figures developed a self-image of definite ingenuity among other people. Becoming the symbols of inspiration and hope. These national heroes are often associated with courage, resilience, and an unwavering commitment for the greater good — all of which has left a unforgettable mark on our society.

Their stories illuminate the path of progress, reminding us that even in the midst of hardships and adversities, ordinary individuals can still accomplish extraordinary accomplishments.

It also serves an an inspiration to help us and reflect on ourselves, how we can overcome predicaments and difficulties and how we can turn them into something positive, not only for ourselves, but also for the benefit of our nation.

National Heroes Day serves as the image of beacon of unity. It’s a celebration that transcends differences, an annual celebration that reminds us of our shared history and aspirations — ultimately embodying the idea of selflessness and resilience and to recognize the heroes among the nation.

The implementation of the K–10 Plus Two education system is a positive step toward increasing adaptation and choice in students' academic journeys. Policymakers hope to create a more inclusive and personalized learning experience by expanding the usual 10-year schooling period to an optional two more years. This novel approach recognizes that each student's requirements and objectives are unique, promoting a change away from a one-size-fits-all strategy and toward one that allows students to chart their own educational path.

The addition of two optional years acknowledges that not all students will benefit from the same rigid path. For some, the opportunity to study specific subjects, participate in practical internships, or participate in community service projects could be quite beneficial. These extra years allow students to delve deeper into their hobbies and passions, establishing a sense of purpose and increasing overall development. It prepares children for the difficulties and possibilities that await them in the real world by empowering them to be active participants in their education.

Critics may argue that the two years' optional nature will result in discrepancies in educational attainment. It is important to remember, however, that the K–10 Plus Two system is not intended to undermine the basic education offered in the first ten years. Rather, it allows students to broaden their horizons beyond the standard curriculum and provides a more individualized learning experience. Furthermore, proper support and guidance systems should be in place to ensure that students are well-informed about their options and have access to relevant resources, thereby limiting any potential disadvantages.

In closing, the K–10 Plus Two education system is an example of a forward-thinking strategy that encourages flexibility and allows students to take ownership of their learning experience. Making the two years optional broadens the educational environment, making it more adaptable to the different aspirations and ambitions of today's youth. As we embrace this educational transition, it is critical to provide an environment in which students may explore their passions, find their potential, and emerge as well-rounded individuals ready for a future filled with limitless possibilities.
