ESSU-Maydolong celebrates 62nd Founding Anniversary
The Eastern Samar State University-Maydolong Campus celebrated its 62nd Founding Anniversary on June 15 to 16, 2023, two days ahead of its actual founding date which is June 18 that falls on a Sunday. This yearโs commemoration was simple yet meaningful.
The celebration commenced on June 15, 2023 with the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) orientation for ESSU-Maydolong employees. The speaker of the said activity was Mr. Eusebio Cabidong, head of the GSIS Borongan Extension Office. He discussed about the benefits that the employees can avail from the government insurer. In the afternoon of the same day, all the employees and staff had the opportunity to take a break from work as they joined in the parlor games. The first day celebration was capped with the community pantry for the lecturers and job order employees.
On June 16, 2023, all the employees and staff gathered again for the Founding Anniversary program at the Student Development Center (SDC). The highlight of the program was the giving of the Loyalty Award to employees who have served the institution faithfully for a considerable period of time. This yearโs awardees were Dr. Vickie Myril G. Yadao, campus administrator, who has been serving the school for forty (40) years now and Ms. Elma M. Guitoria, head of the Human Resource Office, who has been serving the school for twenty-five (25) years already.
All the above mentioned activities for the 62nd Founding Anniversary was hosted by the College of Business Management (CBM).

In celebration of todayโs International Womenโs Month, the office of the Supreme Student Council of ESSU โ Maydolong, acknowledges and appreciates womenโs significant and vibrant role and contributions in the society. Their successes and breakthroughs as our history narrates, changed the worldโs undeniable patriarchal perception. Women, since then, have shown that they were not and will never be behind the shadows of men, because they have shown the world of what they are capable of doing. Women can do things, that men are capable of doing.
Being a woman indeed is never easy. Itโs both a fight and a right. In the past, society would tend to view a woman who is someone with weary and vulnerable spirit. That was because, their mouths were seem to be covered by this patriarchal world. They could not raise their voices. They have the freedom to speak, and it's their right to be heard.
The month of March serves as a reminder to celebrate, commemorate and acknowledge womenโs noticeable and vibrant contributions in the society.
Happy Womenโs Month to the strong and resilient women of Eastern Samar State University Maydolong โ campus.
