Back in the days, MSUans used to call Mindanao State University Marawi Campus as 'Pantaw A Mareg', a phrase which means 'in a high place' or 'like a mountain's stature' as MSU Main Campus is located in that way, high and above the others. This comes with the goal of serving the studentry with utmost quality for them to rise above the global challenges for competence. In connection with this Meranaw historical name, the Department of Public Administration of the College of Public Affairs adapted and created its name into student publication entitled "Pantaw a Mareg".

Pantaw a Mareg is the official student publication in the Department of Public Administration that aims to stand by its name of maintaining its mountain like stature by giving paramount importance by disseminating reliable and factual information to the whole studentry in the Department of Public Administration.

As we welcome the new semester in this new normal era, the Pantaw a Mareg presents its New Set of Editorial Board with the same great goal and passion to serve the studentry and the Department through high quality campus journalism.

The BPA Pantaw A Mareg would like to extend its warmest congratulations to the 47 interns from the Department of Public Administration of MSU Main Campus who have successfully completed their 240 hours of On-the-Job Training to the selected nine (9) offices namely: Office of the SK President Jeff Adiong, PSWDO, Bangsamoro Human Rights Commission, LASURECO Main office, City Planning Office, City Civil Registry Office, University Registrar, Admission office and DSA office.

The student interns were immersed to the 240 hours of office work and other related activities from June 20, 2022 to August 10, 2022 deemed for the completion of the requirements in BPA 197-Practicum.

Moreover, the said practicum was supervised by Prof. Novalyn Matuan and Prof. Marecon Viray, both faculty in the Department of Public Administration with the strong support of the Department Chairperson, Prof. Mohammad-Yusoph Mapia and Dean of the College of Public Affairs, Prof. Soraidah Ali.

New set of Public Administration Student Society Officers have conducted their Oath Office today, June 10, 2022 at the Department’s Office. The PASS election was realized on June 7, 2022 via online voting.

The Department of Public Administration has reached the Level 1 Accredited Status of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines.

The recently concluded Accreditation headed by the AACCUP was participated by the colleges of the Mindanao State UnIversity - Marawi on October 15-19, 2021.

The Public Administration Student Society has conducted a Yearly Free Iftar Program on April 16, 2022 at the Department of Public Administration, College of Public Affairs.

The program catered the students of the said department who are currently staying at MSU and Marawi City. The food packs were initially distributed to the students who were able to come at the Department.

The PASS Officers also extended the program to some of the tricycle drivers as well as to one of the “torils" inside the campus.

The Pantaw A Mareg would like to congratulate one of its editorial board members for being part of the recently concluded 3rd Ranaw Youth Partliament last February 21-27, 2022 at Go Hotel, Iligan City.

Mohammad Jasim A. Bantuas is the current Associate Editor of Pantaw A Mareg and as for this, the board is delighted of you for always taking up the challenge for the whole benefit of Lanao del Sur.

Ranaw Youth Parliament is the leading platform for simulation of local legislation gathering forty (40) young leaders from the different towns of the province of Lanao del Sur. It aims to prepare the next generation of legislators, public managers and policy-lobbyists for a more progressive and sustainable community driven by scientific, culturally-appropriate and faith-centered policies anchored on the provincial government’s Vision 2040.

Third day of enrollment for the Second Semester Academic Year 2021-2022 is currently being processed at the Department of Public Administration’s vicinity.

The enrollment for old students and transferees started this January 24, 2022 and is expected to last this January 28, 2022 according to the signed memorandum of the University.

Classes will be starting this coming February 7, 2022.

The Student Publication of Department of Public Administration "Pantao A Mareg" has officially distributed their first issue with the expected number of copies to the faculty, staffs, and tallied students.

The distribution of the first issue was spearheaded by the Editorial Board Member with the help of the Pantao A Mareg Adviser Prof. Novalyn T. Matuan and the full support of the Department Chairperson Prof. Hosnie M. Gogo for the publication.

The distributed copies of the first issue were expected for the faculty, staffs and tallied students depend on the availability of the individual during the 2-day distribution. The first day was on December 22, 20221 at the College Building. The second day was on December 23, 2021 at the different assumed offices. The offices who received copies were the Division of Student Affairs, Office of the Information, Press, and Publication, Graduate School, and the Department itself.

The Volume Two will be starting to achieve this coming semester for the Academic Year 2021-2022.
