Our PWU Alumni Spotlight for the month of March is Nurse HERMELINA "Lin" ZABALA.

Nurse Lin is an alumna of PWU Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She was the class president, a constant Dean’s Lister, and graduated First Honorable Mention of Class of 1980.

She finished Master of Arts in Nursing Service Administration in 1985 at PWU.
She is currently the Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services & Chief Nursing Officer, St. John's Episcopal Hospital (SJEH), New York, USA.

We are pleased to inform the PWU community that in the recent visit of the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU), our AB Communication Arts, AB Psychology, BS Medical Technology and BS Pharmacy programs were granted Level II re-accreditation for five years, valid until November 2027.

Congratulations to SVPAA Dr. Felina Young, Dr. Leonardo Munalim (School of Arts and Sciences), Dr. Melissa Alcazaren (Psychology), Mr. Sherwin Toriano (School of Medical Technology), and Mr. Mark Harvey Adamson (School of Pharmacy) for your successful accreditation visits.

In anticipation of the scheduled nationwide transport strike this week, classes and office work in all PWU and PWU JASMS Campuses shall shift to online and work from home arrangement from March 6-7, 2023. The following offices, due to the nature of their functions, shall continue to work onsite as scheduled:

Admin and Maintenance (including ICT)
Registrar’s Office
Admissions
Campus Life and Student Affairs
Accounting

Heads of these departments may designate a shifting schedule to ensure continuity of onsite operations. Please coordinate with the HRMO and Office of the VP for Administration.

Moreover, Deans & Program Chairs, as well as Department Heads involved in the Strategic Planning process on Mar. 7 & 8 are required to be present onsite on their scheduled day.

However, should the transport strike not materialize, ALL Campuses shall proceed with the normal schedule.
