HOUSE APPROVES SIX-YEAR TERM FOR BARANGAY, SK OFFICIALS

The House of Representatives has approved House Bill 11287 on the second reading, proposing a six-year term for Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials instead of a three-year term.

The proposed measure contrasted with the recently approved Senate Bill 2816, which sets a four-year term for Barangay and SK officials with a three-term limit. Moreover, the House Bill would effectively move the barangay and SK elections (BSKE) set in December this year to 2029.
