I think by now, many of you, especially those active on social media or are bloggers and influencers, are already familiar with the Maggie Wilson Tiktok smear campaign issue.

It's just sad that "influencing" has become this low. People who have a platform and with millions of followers/subscribers choosing to forgo dignity for what? Php8,000? Which you'd probably stretch for 30 days (because you don't have Php125M to spend for only 11 days, but I digress).

Please, if you have a good following on social media, don't compromise your influence it by spreading lies and misinformation.

In the blogging/influencer industry, integrity is everything.

COORDINATED SMEAR CAMPAIGN?

Maggie Wilson trended on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday as the former beauty queen and TV personality revealed on her Instagram stories the alleged smear campaign against her by several content creators on TikTok.

As of the time of posting, several TikTok videos featuring content creators discussing Wilson and Acasa Manila have been deleted, while some creators have already posted their apology videos.

“Sabi na coordinated ang online attack kay Maggie Wilson & ACASA MNL these past few days. Umamin na ang mga ‘influencers’ na they were paid 8K each to make a video attacking Maggie,” one X user wrote.

Another social media user said: “Maggie Wilson exposing the troll farm gc of these tiktok influencers. so ganito pala galawan noon pag election season and smear campaigns. And the immediate apology videos after.”

“In any democratic country this would open up a debate in Government, everyone involved would have been arrested (on the police own initiative) and a broader investigation would be opened. But remember, this is the Philippines,” Wilson wrote on her latest IG story.

I think about this often. There are times that you wish you get lucky at something, but then you don't put in the hard work. It doesn't work that way in reality.

Whatever success that others are enjoying, a big part of that is that they really did something to achieve it. Yeah, there's a likelihood of luck in there, but you can't just count on sheer luck if you want something good to happen in your life.
