Five years ago, I was in the corporate crowd, meticulously planning materials for a manufacturing giant. Today, the view from my desk has transformed—I'm steering the ship of our marketing agency, Vibrant Socials, that's crafting stories for real estate teams and fitness businesses across the US.

Here are some important lessons I've learned on this amazing journey:

1️⃣ Embrace the Uncertainty: Back then, I started uncertain, and that was okay. Turns out, the path gets clearer as you dive into your work. The beauty lies in the journey, not just the destination.

There were times na naisip ko, ano ba ‘tong pinasok ko? What do I know about Marketing and Real estate? Pero kaya naman palang pag-aralan. Nobody can stop you when you are willing.

2️⃣ People Come and Go: Clients and team members may come and go, like characters in a story. Don't linger on the losses; instead, focus on the narrative you're creating and the characters who choose to stay.

3️⃣ Your Worth ≠ Your Failures: Your value should not diminish when you make mistakes. Each setback is a stepping stone to growth. Dust off, stand tall, and keep moving forward.

Alam ni Johnson ang lahat ng iniiyak ko throughout my journey. It was never easy. But every time I have doubts, I was being reminded of my true worth in the eyes of God. I am fearfully and wonderfully made by Him. Sa Tagalog, nilikha ka na kahindik hindik at kagila-gilalas.😁 Oh di ba? How would you doubt yourself kung ganyan ka ka-precious sa Lord?

4️⃣ Cherish Meaningful Connections: It's crucial to surround yourself with like-minded, driven individuals. Treasure those connections—they are the backbone of your narrative. Quality over quantity, always.

5️⃣ Never Skip the Learning Stage: The learning never stops. Dedicate time and effort to expand your knowledge. The more you learn, the more you can offer.

Ang daming course where I invested my money or energy. No regrets there. I always think that for me to gain something, I have to invest in something. Money man yan, time or effort.

6️⃣Start With What You Have: My journey in social media management started with no fancy gadgets or high-tech gear—just me, an old laptop, prepaid internet and a smartphone. I didn't wait for the perfect moment or better tools. I wanted to earn kahit pa nasa bahay ako.

Start with what you have, no matter how small. Your journey is uniquely yours, and every small beginning has the potential to unfold into something extraordinary.✨

Prepped this presentation for our Monday meeting.

You know, 2023 was a very crucial year for me. Showing up kahit parang walang nangyayari.

Motivating myself and the team when things seem to not make sense.

Side kwento, we lost 5 clients last year. All within the 1st half. 😭

Then came July, our Team Leader’s conference and The Freelance Movement Tribe anniversary happened.

Had a lot of realization about who I am and what what I am capable of doing. Thank you, Tribe, and speakers! 🙏

Biglang may application na agad ng faith after the Tribe Leader’s conference. TL Marielle Helder told us about her love for Chiang Mai, Thailand. Na-enchant nya kami (in short nabudol to go there🤪) Well, it was really worth it pero ihiwalay na story natin ito.😊

The decision was all about exploring the possibilities of connecting with business owners there and I guess, knowing my capabilities better.

Grabe it was a leap of faith.

Lord, kaya ko ba ito? Yung gastos din syempre. What is your will for me?

Being a wife and mom, is it okay to go there alone?

It was a step outside of my comfort zone.

Walang passport. So agad-agad nagpagawa kami ng son ko (Priority lane, praise God! 😍)

Then came September departure.

Immigration Officer:

✨Anong gagawin mo doon? Bakasyon po (see my eyebags for reference 😂)

✨Anong trabaho mo? Sa Marketing po

✨Business proof? I have my biz registration and tax doc here. Thank you hubby Johnson Chua na laging prepared.

✨Sinong kasama mo? Sabay turo kay Coach Liselle Flipphi na nasa katabi kong booth.😂

Hahaha ang lamig ko e. But thank God nakalusot naman.

Dami kong na-overcome preparing to Thailand, at Thailand itself, and hanggang pagbalik ko which made me realize what I am made of/for.

Sino ba ako in the eyes of our Creator?

What are the core values that kept me going?

Hustle pa din kahit nasa Thailand and you know what, mabuti ang Diyos. Before the end of 2023, we got two new clients referred by a current client and one returning client.

We worked with the aim to satisfy our remaining clients. Dahil sila ang naiwan, we got to continue to work with diligence and little did we know that our hardwork can result to new opportunities.

Why am I posting this? I just want to share with you that impossible things can happen when you make it happen.

You don’t sit around waiting.

Kapag may opportunity, immediate action is the deal maker.

And tonight, I am excited na balikan ang aking naging journey with our Vibrant Socials team.

I’m hopeful that each one of us will get our own visions come to reality this year.

The exciting thing about getting one vision accomplished is that you now ask yourself, what’s next? Where to next?

You unlock more opportunities by having that kind of feeling na kaya ko pala at mas kakayanin ko pa yung mga susunod.

Did I pray for more clients? I certainly did!

Did I pray for an easy job? Sometimes.

But most importantly, I prayed for clients who align with our values.

Clients who can see the benefit in working with us.

Clients who would really need our marketing service.

Clients we can help to grow with us.

You see, it’s desirable to ask for an easy job.

The problem sometimes is you can get complacent when everything’s easy.

You may no longer have the chance to grow.

You might not aspire to do things better.

This client I have communicated with here has been working with us for a year now.

He’s a referral and he has also referred to us 2 of our other clients. So kilig! 😍

He’s a pleasant person to talk to. And I love that he sees the value in everything that what we do.

He also takes suggestions and challenges.

I could say that working with him has made us flexible in terms of creativity and going beyond what we have delivered each time.

In the midst of doubt, God is able to use simple conversations to spark hope and joy in the kind of service that we are aiming to deliver each time.

Blessing in its Due Time

It was in May 2019 that I’ve decided to take the road of being a full time momma. My son was just turning five months old then and I knew in my heart that it would be the best decision for our family for me to leave my corporate job of 8 years. It’s been difficult. But at home, I thought that I’ve got to do something else. I need to pursue a career. I pushed on making my hobby a job. I’ve started creating digital and printed designs. I’m really hesitant to create this page but some days after, I’ve got my first event invitation client and I know that it’s a confirmation from the Lord that He’ll do something more in my life. Since that day, the Lord never stopped blessing my work-at-home-momma life.

I have encountered people wanting to entrust their design need on me. I don’t know them personally yet but it’s just so inspiring when people choose you. It’s not me, it’s the Lord’s hands working miracles in my life. This is just a dream before and little by little, God’s story of grace in my life is unfolding.

I’m Momma Viv and I’m claiming that when God plants dreams in our hearts, He’s meant to give it. And if we are willing and believing enough, He will bless the desires of our heart in its due time.
