It’s really hard to expect that people will reciprocate the same effort you gave to them, reciprocate the action you do for them, reciprocate the decisions you make just for them. It’s disappointing knowing that you can waste hours, skip school or don’t even go to work so you can spend time with them but they can’t even give you a minute of their time.

Honestly speaking, it is addicting to perform just to please those people around us than be keen on what pleases God. Not that being excellent in whatever we do is downplayed, but may we all be reminded of whose voice ultimately matters.

Let us reflect daily and ask ourselves this question:

Are we living our lives out of love and obedience to God or are we more interested
in the applause of the crowd?

For it is not the approval of men that matters. It will always and ultimately be the approval of God.

The same God who gave His Son for us to have life.

For no amount of recognition and success will ever beat the best affirmation:

“This is my child, whom I love; who I am well pleased.”
