A photojournalist died while covering the Feast of the Black Nazarene in Manila on Friday, January 9. Authorities identified the victim as 55-year-old Itoh Son of the tabloid Saksi, who was found unconscious near a police station and later declared dead at a nearby hospital. Authorities have yet to release further details.

MMFF 2025 Gabi ng Parangal | Major Awards🎬

LOOK: “I’mPerfect” was named Best Picture at the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival Gabi ng Parangal. “UnMarry” received Second Best Picture, while “Manila’s Finest” and “Call Me Mother” shared Third Best Picture honors.

Jeffrey Jeturian won Best Director for “UnMarry.”

Vice Ganda was named Best Actor in a Leading Role for “Call Me Mother,” while Krystel Go earned Best Actress in a Leading Role for “I’mPerfect.”

“Manila’s Finest” and “UnMarry” were also recognized with the Best Float Award.

Filipino cinema will be in the spotlight tonight as the Gabi ng Parangal takes place, recognizing the craft, passion, and artistry behind this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival entries. 🇵🇭

The awards night is set for tonight, Saturday, December 27, at Dusit Thani Manila in Makati City, honoring the films officially selected for the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival.

The ceremony will stream live at 6:00 PM on the MMFF Official page, with a television broadcast at 9:15 PM on TV5 and True TV Channel 19 via Cignal and SatLite.
