THE RED FORUM 2024 SPECIAL ISSUE IS OUT NOW!

As the Philippines remains vulnerable, and often times unprepared, when faced with uncertain adversaries brought about by the changes in our climate, it is essential for us, Bedans, to finally emulate the ideals of Laudato Si’—which our institution actively promotes—and gather, educate, and finally bring to light the complexities and challenges posed by climate change.

In delving into this issue, it is imperative to approach such a topic with open minds and critical thinking—qualities exemplified by the national figure we are honoring today, Dr. Jose Rizal. The objective here is not to adopt a partisan posture, but to foster constructive and informed discussions.

In one bullet lies a legacy, in one fire sparks a flame.

Today marks the 128th anniversary of Jose Rizal’s death, a lifelong journey of his enduring sacrifice in writing and war. His moment of defiance, as he turns his body in front of the bullet, is all in the labor of love, an ignition of newfound revolution.

As we commemorate the footsteps he embarked on, we reflect on the principles he stood for, guiding us as we take on a future with a firm ground to stand on.
