On the 25th day of December, Catholics around the world come together to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the ultimate symbol of love, humility, and salvation. This sacred day reminds us of His sacrifices and selflessness, which continue to inspire hope and faith in our hearts.

As we gather with loved ones, let us reflect on the true essence of Christmas- the act of giving, forgiveness, and unity. May this special day inspire us to live with compassion and kindness, carrying the spirit of the season in our hearts.

: The official opening for Likhang Mulat was held at AB 202, Theater Studio on December 10.

Likhang Mulat: The FEU Film Movements Festival formally commenced with welcoming remarks delivered by Likhang Mulat Director and Introduction to Film Professor; Herwin Cabasal, Film Professor; Jeselle Reyes, and FEU Department of Communication Chair; Christina Stella Ustaris. They encouraged young student filmmakers to continue creating films that will give light to the problems that need to be seen.

A documentary entitled, “Aswang” was presented by DAKILA, an organization that produces films for awareness on Filipino socio-political matters. A question-and-answer discussion with the people from Dakila and the student filmmakers ensued where they exchanged wisdom and experiences.

After the opening ceremony with Dakila, the 15 finalists were called and introduced in front, giving applause and recognition for their outstanding creations.

FEU Communication Society’s Musicomm graced the attendees with a performance that resonated with the event’s objective of spreading awareness of the often unnoticed issues.

This event was held to encourage the student filmmakers to continue to create films that can move and create change. It shows the students that creating films is more than just expressions, they can use film as a voice to show the truth.

: Second-year FEU IAS Department of Communication students held a photo exhibit for their Fundamentals of Photography class under Mark Aspiras, at the Arts Building TV Studio on December 10.

The exhibit, “Photos of Voices: Fragments of Life,” is a coffee table book exhibit that displays the four aspects of life: love, passion, street, and human struggle.

There were four booths where ushers explained the meaning behind each picture of the coffee table books. Love displays different types of affection: platonic, parental, romantic, and self-love. Passion highlights the intensity of committing to your hobbies, work, studies, and people. Street showcased the diversity of Filipino people we always see but ignore on the streets. Lastly, human struggle presents a harsh and difficult life.

Fragments Of Life wanted to present the depth and feelings living offers through photography. The emotion of bittersweetness through moments of struggle, love, and passion is still present.
