That’s far from the truth with what we saw today. Even a 40 year old Pac would whack this new generation ‘Sugar’.

Stevenson won the WBC Lightweight title in the most boring fashion. There is nothing awesome for the ranked pound for pound fighter today, except for his cool Reebok outfit & green boots, which he didn’t used for fighting rather for running.

When PBA transferred to A2Z from TV5, the fans wished that long waiting time between games to stop. For fans in the venues watching live, it’s so wasteful just sitting there.

At TV5, the wait time is usually 45 minutes. The fans were upset already.

Lo & behold, instead of improving, in A2Z, the wait time became 1 hour & 15 minutes. It will be extreme in some days, 2 hours waiting at the arena!

2023 | Drama | Viva Films

This review is long overdue but it’s better to release it today. The movie found success & was able to reached number one at Vivamax. Many has watched so this one is just supplemental now.

I like a number of director GB Sampedro’s past work. Apple Dy in Pantaxa I thought is the most attractive. But see the number I put in the poster. It is what it is.

What could be lacking with two favorites in a project? Well before that, let’s mention the bright sides of the film. Arron Villaflor with a convincing performance. He was joined with likewise acting from Bo Ivann Lo, Kier Legaspi & Andrea Barbierra. Lo, Vivamax should utilize her more. The sound is clear, the picture is so vivid. In fact, you can see Dy here the fine details of her beauty.

Now to answer the question, it’s simply the material. Story is so simple that 1 1/2 hour seemed so long. You can’t maximize the talents with a straightforward plot.

Some elements don’t help either like the corny explosion after the gunfight. The soldiers & the rebels were so unnatural.

I think I should review Hilom, Litsoneras & Punit na Langit to relive the goodness of GB Sampedro, Joko Diaz & Apple Dy that were not amplified in this film.

The heartfelt ending & soulful theme song by Jaya during credits brought emotions that left a good feeling.

With all these said, I’m giving a not so high but a passing rating.

PBA admittedly is not having a nice reputation for the last years. Lopsided trades, farm teams, championship duopoly, outdated format & many more. ‘Kaya wala nang nanonood ng PBA’, ‘nilalangaw na mga laro’.

Then you will see UAAP games, full packed, very loud & celebrities in attendance!

Mas gusto na ba ng Pinoy ang UAAP sa PBA? Hell, no! Yung fans kasi ng UAAP ay willing to pay, may pambayad sila at may pride kasi ang big schools. Hindi totoong nawala ang fans ng PBA, nandiyan lang sila kahit anong pangit ng palakad. Basketball ang paboritong past time ng tao. Masa ang liga ng bayan, mas gusto ang libre. At kahit libre na nga, hindi pa makapunta walang pamasahe. Dahil meron nang internet mas gusto nila manood sa phone. Puede sila magtrabaho o kumilos sa bahay habang nanonood. Yung mga bakanteng upuan, yung mga dapat na tao doon ay makikita mo sa hundred thousands viewers sa livestream at millions of engagement sa YouTube at Facebook. Asaran, paiyakan. Hindi yan matatapatan ng UAAP.

Not in agreement with this one. Tank just turned 29 this week, is in prime & one of the best right now. While our Pambansang Kamao next month is turning 45, & has retired. Tank is explosive & hurtful, capable of doing what prime Manny Pacquiao did to Oscar De La Hoya. If Pac can’t take the itch to get in the ring, he can instead get Conor McGregor, good as retired & already 35, to a money fight.

Cebu Football Club was able to hold off Burmese club Shan United right in their massive stadium in capital Yangon.

The Dynamic Herb team was winning for most of the second half through a Roberto Corsame goal until yet another late goal hit a Pinoy club. Well at least this time, it’s a draw.

For a two year old club drew against a ten times older club in their home, sharing a point is very satisfying!

So unlucky. Not our day.

Representing Pilipinas in the AFC Cup, our Stallion FC succumbed to visitors Terengganu FC at homecourt Biñan Football Stadium.

Our team already leading early in the game, up 2 goals. But football is more than 90 minutes & we weren’t able to hold on to this cushion.

We committed own goal, allowed a goal after an hour & in the last 3 minutes, gave up another.

Stallions to visit Bali United on the 29th to close this AFC Cup group stage campaign.

A loss that feels like victory!

Greeting the Philippines Football League champions, Kaya Futbol Club for scoring a goal & narrowly losing to Japanese League champions, Yokohama F.Marinos!

Daizo Horikoshi was able to put the ball at the back of the net against the ‘Tricolor’.

The value of two clubs are worlds apart yet our guys held their own on the first half, before bowing to the more superior opponents on the dying minutes.

Just when you are about to point out why RJ Abarrientos replaced his good status in KBL, Rookie of the Year, starter & all that with a stint in B.League scrambling for playing time, he did a breakout game!

He was trusted with 21 minutes which he returned with 24 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists & 2 steals. He exploded with an amazing 6 out of 9 from downtown. He lead the team with 25 efficiency. His great game was not lead to waste at he & Shinshu Brave Warriors beat AJ Edu’s Toyama Grouses.

Hope this is the start of great things to come for him in Japan.
