𝟳𝟲𝗧𝗛 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗛𝗨𝗠𝗔𝗡 𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗦 𝗗𝗔𝗬: 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗔𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗗𝗢𝗠 𝗢𝗙 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗘𝗖𝗛

𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆, 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟳𝟲𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆. This historic adoption is a feat that deserves to be remembered annually.

However, even from the highest political collectives, a resolution can only do so much. Even a decision from the United Nations cannot erase the historical repercussions of these violations against the most marginalized sectors of our community. There is no denying the existence of these infringements even in modern society. 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗱.

𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗰𝗵. Even in modern society, with more platforms to display individuality and expressiveness like social media, speech suppression has evolved and kept up with the trends. The rise of technology and the internet introduced online censorship. Even spaces that preach freedom of self-expression can often be hijacked for political or corporate means.

𝗔𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗗𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗦 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗔𝗣𝗥 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮. 𝗔𝘁 𝗔𝗗𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗦, 𝘄𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝘂𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 “𝗔𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗱 𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝘆𝗮.” Our goal is to allow our constituents their artistic freedom consciously and carefully without neglecting our duty to safeguard the different media we use as we explore the industry of ADPR.
𝗨𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗺𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗯𝗲, 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆.
