Torre, namimilit na pumasok sa KOJC religious compound kahit hindi na valid ang paghain ng alias warrant of arrest

Sa kabila ng maayos na usapan sa harap ng gate ng KOJC ay sinira na ng kapulisan ang back door ng compound, sinira rin ng kapulisan ang CCTV cameras ng KOJC

Gumamit din ng tear gas ang kapulisan sa kanilang pagpasok kahit na pinayagan na silang pumasok sa religious compound.

Humigit-kumulang 3,000 ang kapulisan na pumasok sa nasabing religious compound.

Nisang-at og petisyon ngadto sa Korte Suprema, si Preventive suspension Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama, nga naghagit sa iyang pagkasuspenso ubos sa mga probisyon sa Republic Act No. 6770 (Ombudsman Act of 1989) ug Administrative Order No. 7 (Rules of Procedure of the Office of ang Ombudsman). Subay na sab kini sa press briefer nga gipagawas niadtong Agosto 20.

Partikular nga gitumong sa petisyon ni Rama mao ang sa Section 24 sa RA 6770 ug Section O, Rule III sa AO 7, nga naghatag og awtoridad sa Ombudsman sa pagpahamtang og preventive suspension atol sa administrative investigations.

Agig tubag sa petisyon ni Rama, ang Korte Suprema sa En Banc ni-require kang Ombudsman Samuel Martires ug Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin Abalos, Jr. sa pagduso sa ilang komento sa petisyon sulod sa 10 ka adlaw.

Lakip l na niini ang tubag sa hagit sa konstitusyon ug sa hangyo ni Rama og temporary restraining order (TRO) aron mapugngan ang pagsuspenso sa epekto samtang gisusi pa ang kaso.

LTO 7 to apprehend non-compliant improvised, temporary plates starting September 1

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) 7 will start apprehending non-compliant improvised and temporary plates for both motor vehicles and motorcycles beginning September 1, 2024.

This is following the implementation of LTO Memorandum Circular No. VDM-2024-2721, which outlines the guidelines for the use of improvised and temporary motor vehicle/motorcycle plates nationwide.

The memorandum issued last July 1, 2024, also revoked the Memorandum Circular No. JMT-2023-2400 or the "Use of improvised temporary/motor vehicle plates."

LTO 7 Regional Director Glen G. Galario said that this is the agency's commitment to ensuring the safety of motorists with proper identification of all motor vehicles and motorcycles on the roads.

"The implementation of these new guidelines is a crucial step towards achieving this goal. We urge all vehicle owners to comply with the new regulations and secure the necessary permits to avoid any inconvenience,” said RD Galario.

Under the Memorandum Circular No. VDM-2024-2721, all improvised plates that are awaiting the replacement of their lost or mutilated plates must process their duplicate plate request and must obtain an authority or permit to use an improvised plate.

The improvised plate must also display the assigned plate number and the words "Improvised Plate" and will only be valid until the actual plate is available.

Temporary vintage vehicle plates must have the word "Vintage Vehicle" and the model year must be reflected. Authorization to use temporary vintage plates is no longer necessary.

The temporary plates of new four-wheeled motor vehicles will only be valid within 15 days from the issuance of the sales invoice. The temporary plate should also reflect the assigned conduction sticker number.

For private motor vehicles, temporary plates must be on a white background with black alphanumeric. Electric and hybrid vehicles must also use a white background with green alphanumeric for their temporary plates.

While government temporary plates must use a white background with red alphanumeric.

For motorcycle temporary plates, the use of MV File Number shall only be allowed for motorcycles purchased before January 1, 2023.

"For new motorcycles or those to be purchased after the effectivity of this Memorandum Circular, the use of temporary plate reflecting the MV File Number shall be valid only within 15 days from the issuance of sales invoice," read the memorandum.

RD Galario reiterated that all motor vehicles and motorcycles shall be apprehended and appropriate legal actions and penalties by existing laws and regulations shall be imposed.

Under the Joint Administrative Order No. 2014-01, failure to attach improper or attachment/tampering of authorized motor vehicle license plates shall face a penalty of P5,000.

The violation includes the attachment of any unauthorized plates or any accessory or device to and/or around the authorized motor vehicle license plate or any manner of attachment that impedes in any way the visibility or reflectivity of the authorized motor vehicle license plate./PR

LTO 7 ADVISORY:

Over 3,700 individuals who renewed their licenses through the Regional Office Licensing Extension, also known as the LTO 7 Malasakit Center, can now claim their license cards at the new office located at Piazza Elesia along Gov. M. Cuenco Avenue in Barangay Talamban, Cebu City.

LTO 7 Regional Office Licensing Extension chief Chris Ferraren urged those who renewed their licenses through the said office and are currently possessing temporary paper licenses to claim their cards.

The office is open from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

Individuals should bring their temporary license printed on their receipts.

The backlogs being addressed are from April 2023 to the present.
