Sinabi ng mga residente na tumagal ng hanggang pitong minuto ang buhawi na nagdulot ng pinsala sa lugar. Idinagdag pa ng MDRRMO na mahigit sa kabahayan at ilang establisimyento ang nawasak at tatlo naman ang nasugatan.

Based on the initial investigation, the subject vessel ran aground during the onslaught of Typhoon Odette --- still undergoing salvage operations up to present.

Turkey envoy expresses gratitude for PH assistance for earthquake victims
TURKEY Ambassador to the Philippines Niyazi Evren Akyol on Monday thanked the Philippine government and the Filipino people for sending people and resources to aid his country following a massive earthquake that left thousands of people death and reduced many homes and infrastructure to rubble.
The envoy expressed his country’s gratitude to the Filipino people during simple rites where Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez turned over to him $100,000 financial assistance for the Turkey earthquake victims from the Speaker’s Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation Initiative.
“You know in an event like this, it’s very good to know you have your friends on your side,” said Ambassador Akyol, as he expressed gratitude to the House-led Romualdez.
Amid the disaster, Akyol said the people of Turkey is consoled by the fact that the international community has come out really strong to help them, with 99 countries that has offered assistance to date.
“And we have on the ground almost 10,400 rescue workers and of course the Philippines is one of the major contributor. On that note I would like to express my government and my personal heartfelt gratitude to President Marcos, Jr. for his leadership, for his swift instruction for Philippine authorities to get into action,” Ambassador Akyol said.
He pointed out that within 48 hours of the disaster, there was a Philippine search and rescue and medical team of 82 young Filipino “heroes” in Turkey, braving extreme cold to provide assistance.
In addition, he said the Philippine Red Cross has also provided assistance to the earthquake victims.
The envoy also said he was extremely grateful for the gesture of the House of Representatives, led by Speaker Romualdez.

Nakaligtas din sila sa insidente, ayon kay Mayor Niña Jose-Quiambao. Agad namang hiningi ni Jose-Quiambao ang tulong ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) sa pagsasaayos ng tulay. Hiningi nito ang paumanhin at pasensiya ng publiko para sa pagkukumpuni ng tulay.
‘Neneng’ makes landfall over Calaya island
THE Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Sunday “Neneng” made landfall over Calayan Island, Cagayan after intensifying into a severe tropical storm.
In its 5 a.m. tropical cyclone bulletin, the weather bureau said “Neneng” was located over the coastal waters of Calayan, Cagayan at 3 a.m. with maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 115 kph, moving west northwestward at 20 kph.
PAGASA said “Neneng” reached severe tropical storm category at 2 a.m. Sunday and " is likely" to further intensify into a typhoon.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 3 was hoisted over the southern portion of Batanes (Basco, Mahatao, Uyugan, Ivana, Sabtang) and Babuyan Islands.

Azurin humingi ng paumanhin sa paggamit ng ‘Muslim’ sa De Lima hostage-taking
HUMINGI ng paumanhin si Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. sa paggamit ng salitang "Muslim" ng mga pulis habang nagaganap ang hostage-taking sa PNP Custodial Center.
Sa press conference, sinabi ni PNP chief Police General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. na humihingi siya ng paumanhin kay Senador Robin Padilla na naunang nagpahayag ng pagkadismaya sa paggamit ng mga pulis ng salitang ‘Muslim’.
“We would like to apologize po sa ating good Senator na well-noted po ang kanyang comment as far as 'yung nangyari po… Thank you for reminding us,” sabi ni Azurin.
Sinabi ni Azurin na dahil na rin sa ‘adrenaline rush’ sa gitna ng operasyon kaya’t hindi na rin minsan naiiwasan ang paggamit nito.
"Kung minsan nagre-responde ka, you either identify or describe po— sino ba 'yung suspect? Ilocano. Sino 'yung ano? Bicolano — para malaman po agad ng mga kapulisan kung sino po ba yung hinahanap natin, that sometimes those are part of the descriptions we attribute po sa criminals, suspects na hinahanap natin,” ayon pa rito.
