ace reg’l sci fair

SOLIDIFYING its reputation as a hub for scientific excellence, the Schools Division of Mandaluyong City roared to its winningest podium finish in the recently concluded 2024 Regional Science and Technology Fair held at the Quezon City Science High School (QCSHS), Quezon City.

Bannered by the City of Mandaluyong Science High School (CMSHS), SDO-Mandaluyong secured a National Science and Technology Fair (NSTF) ticket as Rhianah S. Sulit bested her competitors in the Physical Science – Individual category.

Sulit, with her research adviser Ms. Crizel Jusain Peligrino, will represent DepEd-NCR to the national competition to be held in 2025.

According to Ms. Roxane S. Villanueva, education program supervisor in Science, the annual competition aims to provide an avenue for all science enthusiasts to showcase their competence in addressing community problems for sustainable development.

Villanueva also thanked the local government of Mandaluyong for allocating funds to Project IRIS or the Intensified Research Initiatives in Science, to further improve the research outputs of the students.

LOOK: The Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) conducted a monitoring visit to the Schools Division Office - Mandaluyong City today to assess the agency's compliance with government regulations on ease of doing business and public service delivery.

The ARTA team, composed of Mr. Joshua Crepa and Ms. Shayne Marie Araullo, inspected various offices within the Division, including the Office of the Schools Division Superintendent (OSDS), Curriculum Implementation Division (CID), School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD) and the Administrative Unit.

The team, assisted by the officers-in-charge, Ms. Krizel Tayag, Mr. Mark Sherwin Magsombol, Mr. John Darryll Mercado and Mr. Christian Marx Rivero, focused on evaluating the efficiency of processes, the availability of frontline services, and the overall customer experience.

TINGNAN: Ilang pagbabago sa iskedyul ng gawain para sa Beyond the Headlines: The 2024-2025 Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC)

Layunin ng nasabing adjustments na mabigyan ng sapat na panahong makapaghanda ang school paper advisers at mga kalahok sa final round ng 18 Individual Categories kapwa sa Elementarya at Sekondarya.

Kasama sa nagkaroon ng adjustments ang kategoryang Collaborative Desktop Publishing at Online Publishing kung saan isasagawa ang Round 2 at 3 ng kompetisyon sa November 9, 2024.

Habang ilalaan naman ang October 26 bilang Technical Assistance Day sa Radio Scriptwriting and Broadcasting - Secondary Level bilang paghahanda sa kanilang Finals sa November 9.

Pagbubutihin din ang kasanayan ng elementarya sa aspetong technical application ng Radio Broadcasting.

Isasagawa naman ang huling paghahanda para sa Finals ng TV Scriptwriting and Broadcasting Contests sa pamamagitan ng broadcast simulation dry run.

Bunsod ng adjustments ang ilang araw na suspensiyon ng klase at pasok sa mga tanggapan ng pamahalaan sa nakalipas na apat na araw dulot ng Bagyong Kristine.

Samantala, magpapatuloy naman bukas, October 26, 2024, ang CORE CONNECT: Concurrent Session for School Paper Advisers, bilang paghahanda sa paglalathala ng mga pahayagang pampaaralan para sa taong panuruan 2024-2025.

Sa kanyang video message, sinabi ni Mayor Abalos na malaki ang gampanin ng mga g**o sa buhay ng mga estudyante.

"Hindi ako magiging abogado, piskal, mayor at MMDA chairman, kung hindi ako tinuruan ng aking mga g**o," pagbabahagi pa ni Mayor Abalos.

READ: Matatag learners take Division Pretest

IN ACCORDANCE with the Division Memorandum No. 801, s. 2024, the Schools Division of Mandaluyong administered the Division Pretest to the Matatag learners, grades 1, 4 and 7.

Grade 4 and 7 learners of Hulo Integrated School (HIS) used scannable answer sheets while the grade 1 answered in
the provided test materials.

Furthermore, raw scantron generated data and test results will be submitted to the School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD) next week.

The grade 1, 4 and 7 are under the Matatag Curriculum which is implemented this year.

Meanwhile, other grade levels conducted their pretests last Aug. 1-2.

READ: SDO-M'luyong launches BEST program for potential layout artists, video editors

AFTER almost two months of rest, Schools Division of Mandaluyong City through its Curriculum Implementation Division (CID), started its extensive preparation for the upcoming National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) through the Build and Engage Simulation Techniques (BEST) for Potential Layout artists, Elementary and Secondary and Video Editors Secondary.

More than 150 potential layout artists,video editors and school paper advisers participated on the said training at Eulogio Rodriguez Integrated School (ERIS), August 31,2024.

According to Anthony Augusto M. Garcia, Public Schools District Supervisor (PSDS) in charge of Journalism, the number of registered participants inspired the management to continue providing programs like BEST that will help campus journalists unleash their journalistic writing skills.

Garcia also reminded the participants that only schools with candidates and BEST attendees in layouting and video editing lecture workshops were allowed to form a team for both collaborative publishing, online publishing and TV Scriptwriting and Broadcasting to compete during the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC).

He also added that the division's selection for layout artists and video editors is crucial as TeaManda has maintained its dominance in group categories since 2018 NSPC for Collaborative Desktop Publishing and 2016 for TV Scriptwriting and Broadcasting.

Meanwhile, BEST is one of the activities under the division's Enhanced Campus Journalism Program (E-CJP).

BASAHIN: Suliranin sa kalusugan, tutuldukan ng feeding program

UPANG masolusyunan ang problema sa malnutrisyon, gaganapin ang isang feeding program na handog ng Gawad Kalinga (GK) Foundation sa pakikipagtulungan ng Brgy. Barangka Drive Office para sa mga Batang Pedro.

Sa parents orientation, tinalakay ni GK Representative Reynald Dimaliwat na tatatagal ang nasabing programa ng 120 na araw na aabot halos ng anim na buwan.

Mahahandugan ang piling 300 mga Batang Pedro mula Kindergarten hanggang Grade 6 ng feeding program.

Tiniyak naman ni Dimaliwat sa mga magulang na tama, wasto, masustansiya, at malinis ang paghahanda ng pagkain bago ibigay sa mga mag-aaral.

Hinikayat rin ni Dimaliwat ang mga magulang na maaari nilang bisitahin ang pagluluto at paghahanda ng pagkain upang matiyak nila ang kalinisan nito.

Ayon sa napagkasunduan, araw-araw ang pagpapakain sa mga piling mag-aaral upang masig**o ang pagbabago sa kanilang kalusugan.

"Hindi kayo extra, kayo ay co-curricular"

Despite the connotation of being an extra subject, Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) Chief Alyn G. Mendoza emphasized the value of journalism in developing responsible citizens during the first consultative conference of elementary and secondary School Paper Advisers, August 16, 2024 at the Division Activity Hall, SDO Building.

Mendoza recalled how she witnessed the hardwork of campus journalists during the National Schools Press Conference and how the division continue to find ways to support the program.

Meanwhile, the session was attended by both public and private schools who were set to join the journalism activities this school year.
