Filipino Language tool in honing HOTS of the learners, promotes literacy
MANDALUYONG Elementary School (MES) has underscored the professional development of teachers during the Mid-Year In-Service Training (INSET) for Teachers, January 24-31.
With the theme, Fostering Teachersโ Learning and Development Needs, the five-day school-based training aims to strengthen the delivery of quality instruction aligned with DepEdโs MATATAG Agenda.
Dr. Restituto Mendoza, senior education program specialist from DepEdโs Bureau of Curriculum and Development (BCD) articulated a deep understanding of the Filipino language and using it in developing the critical and creative thinking skills of the learners.
Dr. Mendoza emphasized that there is no superior language above all, itโs because language helps people express their thoughts and ideas clearly as what they want to be.
One of the highlights of the training is the series of demonstration teaching by the master teachers focusing on content and pedagogy, learnerโs environment, and diversity and curriculum planning.
Meanwhile, Mr. Anthony Augusto M. Garcia, public schools district supervisor, shared with MES the art of public speaking where teachers underwent a series of speaking activities.
