LOOK: Latest Dost_pagasa satellite imagery (as of 9:30 a.m today, Nov. 16) shows Typhoon barrelling northwestwards, bringing heavy to torrential rains and severe winds. Its eye is nearing Catarman, Northern Samar with maximum sustained winds of 175 km/h.

Wind Signals No. 2 and 3 were already raised in Luzon and Visayas. In Mindanao, Signal No. 1 was raised for Dinagat Islands.

WATCH: 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝟗𝟒𝟓 of Talakag champed the Kitanglad Pop Music Festival, Nov. 5, in Baungon, Bukidnon.

Their winning piece, entitled “Tahanan Ka, Kitanglad” (You’re Home, Kitanglad”), extolled the beauty of the mountain range. The band took its name from the Cagayan de Oro-Talakag-Lantapan-Aglayan diversion road that has become popular among motorists for its scenic views.

Anthropologist and indigenous peoples’ advocate 𝐌𝐚. 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐚 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐲 pens a short tribute in remembrance of 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐮 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐩𝐮𝐤𝐚𝐰 𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐒𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲, overall chieftain of the Kitanglad Council of Elders who passed last year. The first Senior Citizens Community Care Center in Mindanao has just been inaugurated in Malaybalay City by the National Commission of Senior Citizens.

To mark a significant milestone in elderly care, the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) inaugurated its first Senior Citizens Community Care Center (SC3C) in Malaybalay City on October 23. This groundbreaking facility is the first in Mindanao and one of only three SC3Cs nationwide.

As tropical storm continues its northwestward track, four towns in the province have suspended classes on all levels starting yesterday, Oct. 22. They are Dangcagan, Pangantucan, Kibawe, and Kitaotao.

Dost_pagasa also forecasted severe winds to hit several provinces of Visayas and Mindanao, especially in coastal and upland areas.

As tropical storm Kristine continues its northwestward track, four towns in the province have suspended classes on all levels since yesterday, Oct. 22. They are Dangcagan, Pangantucan, Kibawe, and Kitaotao, the latter of which was recently hit by landslide.
