August 23, 2024 - San Isidro College held it's first Symposium Series in the Sr. Mary Redempta McConnell Gymnasium with 4 topics—𝗡𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗲: 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁, 𝗧𝗼𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿: 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘆, 𝘀𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻: 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝘅𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄.

The first guest speaker 𝙈𝙨. 𝙀𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙖 𝙎𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙚 𝘼𝙡𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙧𝙤 shared about the hurdles of college life and how to manage it. She offered tips and tricks on juggling the multiple tasks of a student such as in academics, in the home, and in the society.

𝘿𝙧. 𝘾𝙤𝙨𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚 𝙎. 𝙂𝙖𝙡𝙫𝙚-𝙃𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙤𝙣 shared about the reality of teenage pregnancy and the statistics of teenage pregnancy in Bukidnon. She started with the effects of early pregnancy in the mind of the teen and how it changes their cognitive development. A highlight of her talks was her presentation of the provinces with the highest rate of teen pregnancy of which bukidnon was on top.

San Isidro College's very own Guidance Counselor, 𝙍𝙚𝙫. 𝙁𝙧. 𝙇𝙚𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙤 𝘼𝙙𝙖𝙥𝙩𝙖𝙧'𝙨 talk centered around managing stress and veering the student's mind away from having suicidal thoughts and action when under stress or anxiety. He emphasized the value of having a healthy mind amidst the greater "chaotic" social zeitgeist.

Due to the growing rates of dengue in the province of bukidnon, 𝙈𝙨. 𝙅𝙚𝙣𝙣𝙮 𝙅𝙖𝙣𝙚 𝙅𝙪𝙢𝙖𝙢𝙤𝙮 shared about the effects and dangers of dengue in the society and to the people if left unnoticed. Ms. Jumamoy urges the college students and the public to take action in reducing the dengue cases of the provinces.

The program ended with a zumba facilitated by the Office of Health and Wellness under 𝙈𝙨. 𝘼𝙧𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙚 𝘼𝙗𝙪𝙜𝙖𝙣, 𝙍𝙉.

WHAT'S NEW?

Mr. Helbert D. Diana, AB Philosophy Graduate of Class 2024 who graduated Magna Cum Laude received UNIFAST's Academic Excellence Award today, July 2, 2024.

The awarding ceremony was held the the Sta. Maria Dela Cabeza Conference Room and was graced by the awardee's parents' Mr. and Mrs. Isidro and Helen Diana, Rev. Fr. Virgilio H. Delfin, CPA, DBM, President, Dr. Anna Wilda Tado, VP For Administration and Finance, Junmar C. Martel, OIC - Registrar, and Nestor D. Aznar, Jr., TES/TDP Focal Person.

Mr. Aznar expressed the rationale of the ceremony which was followed by the awarding of the UNIFAST Certificate of Achievement and Medal of Excellence. In his acceptance speech, Mr. Diana noted that "I am deeply honored and humbled to stand before you today to accept this award from UNIFAST. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to UNIFAST for this prestigious honor. Your commitment to recognizing and celebrating excellence is truly inspiring, and I am proud to be associated with an organization that values education and hard work. To my family and friends, schoolmates, mentors, and my dear Alma Mater San Isidro College, thank you for your guidance, wisdom, and patience. Your insights and collaboration have been instrumental in my journey, and I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn from each of you. This award is not just a recognition of my achievements, but a reflection of collective efforts of everyone who has been part of my journey. It reminds me of the importance of perseverance, collaboration, and continuous learning. Lastly, I would like to dedicate this award to everyone who has inspired and supported me. This is a shared victory, and I am excited to continue working hard and striving for excellence in the future."
Fr. Delfin, in his message, also noted that the event, simple it may be, is a manifestation of the government's care for the education of its people. He is grateful that SIC is one of the HEIs trusted by UNIFAST and CHED to implement financial assistance programs to financially challenged but deserving students.

The event ended with smiles from all who were present during the ceremony - with the hope that event would not be the last, and that more students would be able to enjoy the benefits of the Tertiary Education Subsidy and Tulong Dunong Program.
