Congratulations REYMARK ORBITA of Malabuan High School, SRAA Qualifier for long jump event in Athletics.

𝗖𝗗 𝟮 𝗝𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗽 𝘁𝗶𝘅 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗥𝗔𝗔 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿

Long jumper Jan Reymark Orbita of Makilala and High Jumper Louie Jay Arandilla of Arakan finally triumphed in gold in their respective events with a 5.77-meter jump record for Orbita and a 1.60 meter-high jump for Arandilla in this year’s Provincial Meet.

Orbita’s Sweet Victory
In an exciting showdown of jumping skills, Orbita started strong with a 5.32-meter jump on the first attempt and improved significantly on the second attempt with a leap of 5.77 meters, which secured the top spot leaving behind CD 1’s John Albert Buncal’s 5.71 meters, who also won gold in the triple jump earlier.
This is Orbita’s second and last Provincial Meet and his first SRAA appearance since this is his last playing year in the province as a young athlete.

“Actually hindi ko inexpect na makuha ang gold medal, at sobrang saya ko na marating ang ganitong karangalan,” Orbita said. “Susulitin ko na ito dahil ito na ang huling beses na makapaglaro sa ganitong aktibidad,” he explained.

He is very thankful to his family, friends, and teachers who supported him all this way, especially to his school, which gave him the opportunity to showcase his skills in the sport.

Arandilla’s Long-awaited Gold
Louie Jay Arandilla’s impressive stint this year in the high jump finally earned him the gold he has been aiming for three years, clearing all pole attempts with 1.60 meters as his personal best.
John Albert Buncal of CD 1 put up a strong fight, also clearing the 1.60-meter mark in his third attempt but Arandilla’s clean record with no failed attempts secured the top seed.

Meanwhile, long jump gold medalist Jan Reymark Orbita showed determination in clearing the 1.60-meter mark, but his one failed attempt at 1.55 meters did not earn him gold.

This is Arandilla’s third Provincial stint and his first SRAA ticket, saying “Actually sir, wala ko nag expect na magdaog diri sir kay volleyball akoa gi focusan,” he laughingly said.

He jokingly said that he attested his win to luck since he did not have strong and rigorous training prior to the Meet.

He also highlighted that Ferolino’s absence from the sport this year allowed him to steal the number one spot since he considered Ferolino his greatest thorn, coming only second every time they competed.

He promised to focus on training and value discipline as he competes in his first and last SRAA.

ATM: International Day of Persons with Disability (IDPD) Celebration at Makilala National High School with the theme: "Engage, Empower, Excel: Leadership for the Next Generation".
This endeavor is sponsored by Makilala LGU-MSWD under the leadership of Mayor Armando Morales Quibod and the assistance of MSWDO Lina Cañedo.

This event recognizes the role that persons with disability play in creating a more inclusive and sustainable world for all. It also emphasizes the importance of the participation of persons with disability in decision making processes that affect their lives.

This only goes to show that LGU Makilala is giving them the avenue to become vital partners in the progress and development of every citizen in the Municipality of Makilala.

MAYOR QUIBOD MUHATAG OG 20,000 NGA GANTI SA MAKATUDLO SA NAHIMUTANGAN SA SUSPEK SA KAMATAYON NI LADY JAZZY

Kini ang gideklara ni Mayor Armando M. Quibod samtang siya mipahigayon sa iyang State of Children's Address sa lungsod sa Makilala karong adlawa, November 28, 2023. Gi-asoy ni Mayor Quibod ang kasubo ug kondemnasyon sa maong hitaboa dungan ang pagaggawas og kamandoan ngadto sa kapulisan sa Makilala nga himoon ang makuting imbestigasyon aron masikop ang suspetsado ug mahatag ang hustisya alang sa biktima .

Nanawagan usab si Mayor Quibod sa katawhan sa Makilala sa pagsiguro sa proteksyon, pag-amoma ug pagpalambo sa kabataan. Ang kamatayon ni Lady Lazzy natukma gayod sa panawagan sa tema sa selebrasyon sa 32nd Children's Month nga "Break the Prevalence, End the Violence: Protecting Children, Creating A Safe Philippines".

Gipasalamatan usab sa mayor ang mga myembro sa Council for the Protection of Children sa municipal ug barangay levels tungod sa padayon nga pagtinabangay alang sa kaayohan sa mga kabataan.
