#OfelPH became stronger, with maximum sustained winds of 185 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 230 kilometers per hour. These winds can knock down houses, especially those built with light materials and situated near coastal areas. Most houses and buildings may be severely damaged. Power lines will be disrupted, and tall trees will be uprooted.
The northeast portion of mainland Cagayan -- such as Santa Ana and Gonzaga -- will likely experience this powerful wind for at least 12 hours. Thus, Signal number 5 has been hoisted over northeast Cagayan.
Signal number 4 is also raised in the northern and eastern portions of mainland Cagayan and the northeast portion of Isabela.
Winds in this area are also intense, at 118 kilometers per hour or up to 184 kilometers per hour. Damage is expected even in concrete structures; roofs will be blown away, and walls might also collapse.
Pagasa says evacuation should have been completed by now in areas under Signal Nos. 4 and 5, as the Supertyphoon will likely make landfall this afternoon. #KnowMore
