💫Love Designer✨
(An English dubbed Chinese series)

Sharing with you all my first English dubbed Chinese series called "Love Designer". This was composed of 45 episodes for the entire season. The synopsis starts with a fashion designer and a man in the e-commerce industry fall in love while caught in the middle of a commercial lawsuit.

I am the voice actor for the character named "Zuo Yulin", a nerdy geek who works for the e-commerce industry. Love Designer was aired publicly on YouTube in 2022, and I only found it online just a few months ago 😄

After a one year hiatus from voice over, I am finally back and ready to accept remote broadcasting (Radio, TV/ Digital commercials, animation, etc.) and non-broadcasting (AVPs) projects for corporate and non-corporate clients.

Within that one year, I was able to focus on building my own professional sound proof vocal booth as well as upgrade to higher end equipment to give my clients the best sound quality for their broadcast and non-broadcast advertising needs.

I am very excited to be powered by my new LEWITT LCT 540 S condenser microphone for all my upcoming voice projects as well as my new Audient interface with fully upgraded low-noise XLR cables. Thanking God for this breakthrough and for sustaining me through an entire year of rest.

I am looking forward to be working remotely with all my different partnered audio production studios again in the Metro, and to other amazing recording studios that I have yet to work with. Lord thank you! and I once again entrust this journey to you. I am so happy and grateful to be back in my element 🙏❤️

Are you a Marvel fan? Because I am!

Cartoon animations are definitely at the top of my list as a voice actor that I truly enjoy the most apart from doing corporate VO gigs (which pays my bills 😄). It's not everyday though that you get to score an animation VO project, but I have done some in the past for children's animation / cartoons, and embodying a character with specific character traits is so much fun!!!

My goal and dream is that one day I'll get to work with Netflix or Disney for any of their animated series or movies as the voice of a animation character. I am declaring this out to the universe as early as now 😄, and I claim it already in Jesus Name Amen 🙏

Meanwhile as I wait for that dream to manifest, here's my rendition of the intro to "Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse" 🕸️🕷️🕸️. This is how I would interpret a younger Peter Parker would sound like.

This has nothing to do with voice over, but I blame TikTok for making me bust a move 😆

Tiktok is the only platform that has broken my "no dance" streak in nearly a decade 😂. Last time I danced was back in the day in the clubs haha I'm happy know my brain can still learn movements.

I have to say the dance challenges out there right now that is trending on TikTok are not super easy to do (especially if you're a beginner like me😆) This 15 second choreography took me about 30 minutes to master. Yes, I'm super slow like your Uncle or Tito trying to learn hip hop moves 😆. But super enjoying every minute of it. I almost forgot how good it feels to bust a move and groove.

If your in a bad mood, busting a move and grooving to music is definitely a great anti-depressant.

The tagline "Mentos the Fresh Maker" back in the 90s has been imbedded in the back of my head. Until today, I can still sing that jingle with ease. 😄

Then fast forward 25 years later, I finally get to be the voice of Mentos for their "Cherry Mint" variant, and the feeling is surreal knowing that I had this God-given opportunity to be the voice of a brand that heavily influenced my childhood.

Have you ever tried putting Mentos inside a Coke 8oz bottle? That was my childhood 😂🍾

This is the geek side of me speaking 😄

Growing up in the 80s & 90s has left a nostalgic mark in my mind and heart when it comes to cartoons, and I couldn't resist sharing with you one of my personal favorites "Voltron: Defender of the Universe" (the one with the lions🦁 and not the cars version) - titos and titas of the Philippines do you guys remember this? 😆

The original narration of this was done by one of the greatest VOs of all time, Peter Cullen( aka The Voice of the OG Optimus Prime in Transformers). His OG version will always be the best for me!

My vocals are definitely super far away from Peter Cullen's vocal range, but I wanted to hear how his narration would sound like if it were my VO on the 80s Voltron opening Intro. After syncing my own VO to the intro, the treatment came out younger and more youthful than Peter Cullen's deep, Optimus Prime vocals.

Nonetheless, I super enjoyed making this rendition for you all, and hope it brings back amazing nostalgic memories of the 80s cartoons every Titas and Titos of Manila and the Philippines once grew up with 😄

To the younger Millenials and Gen Z, I know there's a new Voltron on Netflix called "Voltron: Legendary Defender" , but if you watch the original OG one... Nothing beats the 80s Version of "Voltron: Defender of the Universe"

James and I go waaaay back... Although we've never met, this guy has made the biggest impact on my VO and dubbing career!

Being his soundalike for almost 7 years now has been one of the most amazing experiences I've had as a voice talent, and its been a great honor to represent him in most of his ad campaigns in the past.

Wishing James Reid the best in his musical career in the US, and hoping he gets his big break there too. Little does this guy know that he indirectly has been giving me work.

I get asked quite often "Why can't James just do his VO and why do they need a soundalike?

The answer is simple... When you're a big celebrity like James Reid, and your management books you for too many gigs (movies, ground events, etc.) schedule conflicts are bound to happen at some point. If you're in the advertising world, you would know that advertising campaigns have strict deadlines. When an ad needs to air... It needs to air ASAP! More time lost = money lost for a brand too. So therefore soundalikes are crucial in the event that they cannot get a particular celebrity to "cure" or "revise their lines" before a campaign needs to air.

All big celebrities with big names have soundalikes. You probably just didn't notice because they cast for almost the same frequency of vocals. But with my journey as a voice talent, it so happened that James Reid and I were the closest vocal match , and this "soundalike" opportunity has played a very big role in my VO and dubbing career.

If you're an aspiring voice actor, I suggest you start creating voice demos, and join some VO groups to help you seed your samples to sound studios in the metro. You'll never know if you end up as a soundalike to some big named celebrity.
