FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE STEPS TO BE A CITIZEN JOURNALIST
1. Check the qualifications below and answer the application form at https://bit.ly/citizenapplication2023
2. Submit the requirements stated below at the Press Room, 3rd FL, Bldg. A (beside ROOM A-317).
3. Wait for the announcement of the date of the qualifying exam and interview.
Qualifications:
-No failing grade in all subject areas from the previous school year
-With final grade of at least 83 or above from the previous school year for aspiring writers, or at least 80 or above for aspiring photojournalist, graphic artist, video editor, or cartoonist
-Passed the qualifying exam and interview
Requirements:
-Photocopy of Report Card from previous school year
-Recommendation Form (signed by any of the following: present or previous English teacher, present or previous class adviser, or school paper adviser from another school), downloadable at https://bit.ly/citizenreco2023
-(For those applying to be a cartoonist, photojournalist, or graphic artist: submit a 2-page portfolio to [email protected] on or before September 22, 2023)
-(For those applying to be a broadcaster or video editor: submit a 2-5 minute sample video to [email protected] on or before September 22, 2023)
Qualifying Exam Coverage:
1. Communication and Language Proficiency Test (Multiple Choice, 50 items)
This subtest measures the ability to recognize grammar usage errors. This subtest consists of sentence completion, identifying sentence error, and improving sentences.
2. Logical and Analytical Reasoning Test (Multiple Choice, 20 items)
This subtest measures the ability to analyze and evaluate reasoning in written materials and to draw conclusions about given propositions.
3. Skill Test (For Writers Only, Essay, 1 item, 50 points)
This subtest measures the ability to produce the expected outputs in the chosen specialization or category.
