Dr. Anita G. David is the first-ever female President of the Pampanga State Agricultural University - Formerly PAC (PSAU) that is leading the institution towards excellence in agricultural education and research. Dr. David carved a distinguished path in academia. From her roots as a Valedictorian at the Pampanga Agricultural College to her current role as the first-ever female President of PSAU with her journey that exemplifies dedication and excellence. A background in Mathematics, a string of academic accolades, and a Doctorate in Educational Management, indeed Dr. David brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her leadership.
Dr. David's tenure at PSAU has been marked by transformative leadership and a steadfast commitment to excellence. As the former Vice President for Academic Affairs and Officer-in-Charge President, she has steered the institution towards its goals with vision and purpose. Her leadership style, characterized by empathy and strategic foresight, has garnered respect and admiration from stakeholders across the board.
In line with this, she viewed her experiences as a woman in generating and developing ANNR technologies. According to her,
โAs a woman leader in the field of education and agricultural research, my role is deeply engrained in the philosophy of PSAU: The University with Heart for Humane and Blissful Development. I believe that my perspective and experiences as a woman contribute to a more inclusive and holistic approach to generating and developing AANR technologies. Drawing inspiration from PSAUโs vision to be a Responsive Premier State Agricultural University for Humane and Blissful Development, I strive to empower and enable all stakeholders, regardless of gender, towards greatness, excellence, and prosperity. By fostering an environment that values diversity and promotes gender-responsive instruction, we can harness the full potential of women in driving innovation and sustainable development in AANR technologies.โ
Moreover, if she were to describe a woman researcher or a woman leader in one word, it would be Resilient.
โWomen researchers and leaders embody resilience, facing challenges with grace and determination while striving to overcome barriers and achieve their goals. At PSAU, we recognize the importance of resilience in fulfilling our mission to improve instructional quality, enhance research programs, and strengthen community empowerment initiatives. Through resilience, women researchers and leaders inspire others, break barriers, and pave the way for a more equitable and sustainable future in AANR technologies.โ
Beyond her administrative prowess, Dr. David is a prolific researcher and advocate for community service. Her contributions to the field of Mathematics Education are widely recognized, as her efforts in pioneering extension services for marginalized communities. Her passion for education and unwavering dedication have earned her prestigious awards, including the 2022 Most Outstanding Magaleรฑo Awardee in Education. In essence, Dr. David stands as a beacon of inspiration, embodying the values of excellent service, and leadership in the academic arena.
Lastly, as an empowered woman, researcher, leader, community servant and educator, she advised the younger generation of leaders and researchers to embrace their role as agents of change, advocates for inclusivity, and champions of excellence. According to her,
