Ang Knowledge Management unit ng Office of Innovation ay muling nagbabalik sa panibagong episode ng ICTv!

Natapos ang ating usapin sa mundo ng aquaculture sa mga nakaraang episodes. Ngayon naman, ating pag uusapan ang mga mahahalagang topics tungkol sa agriculture.

Registration and call for entries for the Logo-making and Spoken Poetry contests are open until April 29, 2024. Meanwhile, the registration and submission of brief descriptions for the Innovation Pitching Challenge will be accepted until April 25, 2024 (11:59PM), exactly four (4) days before the face-to-face pitching on April 29 at the ICTRD Office.

Fig species like Tibig or Ficus nota (Blanco) merr. are known for harboring enzymes that are found potent in tenderizing meats. However, this endemic tree that typically thrives in low-elevation forests, thickets, and water-rich environments such as streams, remains uncommonly consumed in the Philippines despite its abundance.

This unrecognized potential encouraged the inventors of the present technology to introduce an innovative solution to the traditional method of tenderizing meat by developing an extract made from the leaves of Tibig.

The MighTibig is an all-natural meat tenderizer developed by a group of faculty-researchers from the PSAU-Department of Food Technology, led by Mr. Reniel R. Andalion in 2022, the same year it was applied for intellectual property (IP) protection.

In celebration of the 2024 National Intellectual Property Month this April, National Innovation Day on April 21, and World IP Day this April 26, the PSAU - Office of Innovation will be featuring the agri-aqua technologies and other IP assets of PSAU through the “𝑻𝒆𝒄𝒉𝒏𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝑭𝒐𝒄𝒖𝒔” series. The purpose of the activity is to present the technologies that contribute to the success of the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and showcase PSAU’s commitment to fostering a Filipinnovation mindset among its members and partners.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊!

PSAU through the Sibul TBI headed by Dir. Walter L. Pacunana convened the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA), and all the Municipal Agriculture Offices (MAOs) in Pampanga for a consultation meeting held on April 23, 2024 at the 2nd floor of the University Food Center.

14 MAOs grace their presence in the said meeting including – City of San Fernando, Angeles City, Mabalacat City, Lubao, Minalin, Porac, Sta. Ana, Masantol, Mexico, San Simon, Apalit, Sasmuan, Guagua, and Magalang.

Sibul TBI spearheaded this meeting to present the incubation program of the university aiming to identify opportunities for intervention, and support aligned to the needs of farmers, fisherfolks, aspiring agripreneurs, and MSMEs in the province of Pampanga.

The PSAU, through the Office of Innovation and the Research and Development (R&D) Office, joins the national innovation community in celebrating the 2024 National Innovation Day, National Intellectual Property Month, and World IP Day.

In line with this, we are thrilled to announce that there will be a one-day celebration titled “PSAU’s Creativity and Innovation Day” on April 29, 2024, to be held at the PSAU ICTRD Office. We are inviting PSAU stakeholders, especially the students, to join and share their innovative and artistic ideas.
