About the song:
The Girl From Ipanema is a famous Brazilian bossa nova jazz song that was composed by Jobim and Moraes in 1962. Astrud Gilberto and Stan Gentz's version of the song became a global hit in 1964 and it won the Grammy for Record of the Year the following year.

The song was inspired from a beautiful young girl walking by while out shopping or on her way to the beach. The two songwriters would see her everyday and got smitten by her beauty while they were sat in Veloso, a café-bar in Ipanema.
