Trivia: Kalanggaman Island is a breathtaking piece of paradise located in the Visayas region, between Cebu and Leyte Provinces. It belongs to the Municipality of Palompon, Leyte, and is one of the few islands that can boast of a pristine shoreline, crystal-clear waters, and natural beauty.

The island's name Kalanggaman was given to the island because it looks like a bird when seen from above, with “Langgam” meaning bird in Visayan language. The island's “wings” can be seen to change from time to time due to the change of current and tides. It is also home to a variety of migratory birds, making the island even more beautiful with its stark contrast of white sand beaches and lush forests.

Trivia: Coach Tony Hinkle of Butler University was the first to come up with an idea to improve the visibility of the basketball in 1957. Before then, basketballs were colored brown, but this was a hindrance to both players and fans as it was hard to see. Hinkle's idea was to develop an orange basketball, which was much easier to spot and track. The orange basketball was a great success, and ever since then, it has been the standard color for basketballs across the world

Trivia: Dr. James Naismith was a Canadian physical education instructor who invented the game of basketball in 1891 while working at the YMCA Training School in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Dr. Naismith had been challenged to create a new game that could be played indoors in the cold Massachusetts winters to provide an “athletic distraction" to a disruptive group of students. With a two-week deadline, Dr. Naismith decided to invent a game of skill, finesse, and accuracy, rather than one that relied on pure strength.

He was inspired by a game he had played as a child called “duck on a rock," in which players lob a small rock at a "duck" placed on top of a large rock in an attempt to knock the "duck" off.

A female mosquito bites humans and animals because our blood – and the blood of animals – contains needed nutrients that will help the production and health of their eggs. Females suck on blood so they can create strong eggs and produce their offspring. So, in a sense, we are helping the birth of more mosquitoes when they suck on our blood. Without this blood, the female mosquito would not have the needed ingredients to develop their eggs and the entire population would die out.
