Tien Shinhan Sacrifice
Tien Shinhan firing away at the newly evolved, second form of the evil Cell with his Neo Tri-Beam. Tien's volleys of energy continue to keep the villain at bay, but Tien is getting weaker with each blast, he looks to his left and notices that Android 16 and Android 18 still have not left the battle field. He screams out to them to go, and they finally depart as Semi-Perfect Cell watches on, growing angrier as he is pushed further into the huge hole in the ground created by Tien's powerful attack. Tien pauses briefly to catch his breath, and giving Semi-Perfect Cell the chance to exit the hole and attempt to follow the androids, but Tien, despite being so weak, fires another blast at Semi-Perfect Cell, creating another hole deep into the earth, and blowing the villain into it.
At The Lookout, Gohan, Goku, and Mr. Popo sit and wait for Vegeta and Future Trunks to finish their training, while Gohan and Goku become more and more worried about their friend Tien. Mr. Popo tells the two that there is no way for Tien to continue, and that his life force is diminishing greatly, he may give out at any moment. Goku is obviously disturbed by Mr. Popo's comment.
As the battle rages, Tien continues to grow ever weaker. The immense discharge of power starting to take its toll on him. He summons up one last attack and blasts Semi-Perfect Cell back into the hole a final time. Overcome with exhaustion, he finally falls to the ground. On Kami's Lookout, Goku senses the danger his friend is in and becomes enraged. Semi-Perfect Cell exits the hole, annoyed by the fact that such a 'pitiful man' kept him at bay long enough for the Androids to escape. Semi-Perfect Cell flies down to Tien, and kicks the warrior in the side, Tien is thrown back, and is stopped when his arm and shoulder go slamming into a nearby rock. Semi-Perfect Cell smirks and floats into the air. He begins to power up and raises his hand to blast him. Goku, sensing Cell's power level rising, stands
Imperfect Cell absorb Android 17

Android 16 beats Cell continuously, not letting up for a second, and appear evenly matched. He drives Cell into the ground so hard he creates a crater. Android 16 quickly tucks his hands under his arms, taking them off at the elbows and uses his Hell's Flash on the monster. When Android 16 finally powers down, the area is literally covered with the marks of the attack.
Android 16 urges Android 17 and Android 18 to escape while they still can, as he senses Imperfect Cell is still alive. But their cocky attitudes cause them to believe that the attack was more than powerful enough to kill Cell. Android 17 then keeps repeating how no one could have survived that while standing with his back to a hole caused by the massive attack. Suddenly, Imperfect Cell slowly rises out of the hole behind him while the arrogant Android 17 laughs maliciously. Android 17 all of a sudden turns around immediately to see Imperfect Cell's tail funnel open right over his head. The Android is warned in time by Tien Shinhan, but is still caught in Imperfect Cell's grasp and is soon absorbed. Then, the most horrifying scene is shown of Android 17 getting sucked into Imperfect Cell's tail and is forcibly pushed through it and into his back. Imperfect Cell starts to transform into a more unappealing, yet very powerful form.

Imperfect Cell power up against Android 17 & Piccolo | Dragon Ball Z

Upon Cell's arrival, Cell, after identifying Android 17 and 18 (as well as being surprised at Android 16's presence due to being unfamiliar with him), proceeds to power up via the people he had absorbed (with Piccolo estimating it to be well over a thousand souls being used). Imperfect Cell, upon fully powering up, then walks past a stunned Piccolo and muses that Piccolo must be trembling with fear at his newfound power. However, Piccolo then turns around and angrily tells Cell that the power isn't his own, but rather, he had stolen it by taking the lives of innocent people. Cell then mentioned that the people he referred are "part of greatness" due to his giving them all a purpose, with Piccolo denouncing him as insane. Cell then approaches Android 17, with their trading words, specifically that 17 had some business to attend to regarding Piccolo, while Cell mentions he won't leave because he himself has business to attend to as well. Piccolo then barely manages to yell to 17 that Cell intends to kill him and 18, with 17 barely being alerted to this warning and evading Cell's tail before being pinned by Cell. However, Piccolo knocks Cell away from 17, saving 17's life. 17, thanking Piccolo, then asks what Piccolo meant by it trying to kill them. Piccolo explains that the creature's name is Cell, he is another of Dr. Gero's creations but he's not complete yet and says that Cell needs to gain his perfect form by absorbing 17 and 18. The android are disgusted and refer to Cell as a creep, especially when Cell confirms this revelation. Piccolo and Android 17 join teams and starts to fight together.

Goku saying he is going to be stronger than a Super Saiyan. Master Roshi has no idea what he is talking about. Goku asks Chi-Chi if Gohan can come train with him. Chi-Chi says yes, under the condition that he studies afterward (although she later reveals she said yes because she couldn't deny anything from Goku because of her love for him). The couple say goodbye to each other, and then Goku uses his Instant Transmission technique to get inside the airplane that Yamcha, Krillin, Piccolo and Tien Shinhan are using to try to get to Cell. Everyone is happy to see Goku back at his full strength after recovering from the deadly heart virus. Goku tells everyone that there is a place where he can get a year's worth of training in a day.
Goku then uses Instant Transmission again to bring himself and Gohan to where Future Trunks is. Future Trunks says that his training is not going well as his father will not train him, let alone speak to him, and is instead standing looking into the sky and has remained motionless like that for three days. Vegeta thinks to himself that he has the power to be able to ascend above Super Saiyan, but he wonders how. Goku tells Vegeta about the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and Vegeta says he will go on the condition that he enters first

Piccolo's arm is absorbed into a sagging mound of flesh, and he admits defeat while asking it who it is and how it made it here. The monster then goes on to reveal that its name was Cell, and how he was created by Dr. Gero as the perfect fighting android made up of the cells of the universe's strongest warriors. However, Dr. Gero saw the plan to create the ultimate bio soldier was taking too long so he abandoned the project. Instead, the supercomputer in charge of the project continued the project secretly. A special robot was created to capture the gene samples of Goku, Vegeta and Piccolo when they were fighting on Earth; Frieza and King Cold's genes were captured when they came to Earth and were killed by Future Trunks. Many others fell into that category too and that he had learned many of their strongest techniques and abilities. Future Trunks' genes were not collected though, as enough Saiyan samples were collected. However, Imperfect Cell reveals his most disturbing fact, that his true purpose was to absorb the unique Infinite power cores of Android 17 and Android 18, reaching his Perfect Form. With the Earth's population low in his future, and Android 17 and Android 18 destroyed, Imperfect Cell decided to steal Future Trunks' Time Machine by killing another version of Future Trunks and come back to this time, to a fresher planet with more victims.

After the anonymous foe is finished powering up, Piccolo starts powering up too. A bigger crater than the creature's is formed under Piccolo, and a huge light form as all the rocks and cement is coming up from the ground. The insectoid monster is pretty impressed with Piccolo's power. Piccolo forms a huge ball of energy and sends it at the enemy.
Elsewhere, Krillin and Future Trunks flying, and a huge flash is seen over the horizon. Krillin tells Future Trunks how Piccolo fused with Kami and is now a Super Namek.
