| Rain, Rain, Go Away

Rain, oh, rain, why won't you go away?
Shivering in the cold, I can't find my wayโ€”
A way to a home, warm and cozy.
Sitting by the sofa, with a blanket's embrace.

The wind blew with the icy-cold air,
Blocking it with cardboard, but to no avail.
Hugging myself to ease the coldness,
Of the raging wind that the storm carries with.

Skin wrinkled with every droplet of rain.
Lip's pale and dry, with no water to take.
How will I survive this catastrophe?
How can I smile with this brutality?

Am I unworthy of this life's wealth?
With no food to ease my hunger,
Nor a shelter to hide with.
Tell me if I'm unworthy of these needs.

I envy those who are comfortable in the caress
Of a secured home with a coffee in hand.
Closing my eyes, as I fervently pray.
Someday, I hope to be blessed with a home.

Shedding tears under this cold, wet sky, I spoke,
"Rain, rain, please go away.
I want to feel the sun's warm embrace
And be dry as I sleep in the street's solace."

| If only I knew

Your memories lingered; a warm embrace,
A gentle bliss, I'd like to chase.
Echoes of your voice, oh so hollow,
Mama, can you hear my sorrow?

I seek for comfort; your gentle touch
Only to find a void, was i asking too much?
A soothing voice reverberates in my ears
Ceasing the whirlwind of my tears.

A mother's embrace, a love that won't fail
Extinguishing the agony, warmth prevail
I longed to experience such affection,
Hoping to reignite our lost connection.

Knees bended in despair,
Bones were beyond repair.
Kneeling and tearing on your grave,
Whilst saying 'Mama, I'm not that brave.'

Mama, can I hug you once more?
Save me from this unfathomable sore.
If only I knew that it was the last time,
I would have hugged you a lifetime.

| I Gazed

I gazed afar, and saw this man,
Wiping sweat in the scorching sun,
I looked again, and nearly ran,
Wind, rain, hot then cold, weather's scam!

The green fields turned to gold,
This man's happiness, he cannot hold,
Finally, the planted sacrifice untold,
Now will be reaped, his pain's antidote.

However, the heavens scold!
The swishing wind, the rain is cold,
The gold he protected, now behold!
They are all lying, in water soaked.

I gazed at that man again, and my heart was shattered whole,
His glowing and jubilant eyes, now withered and old,
How will I comfort this man, how will I console?
How will I take his sorrows, even just so small?

What will I say to him that will make things right,
So that his pain no more to hide,
I want him to know that I'm always beside,
How? How will I, if fear and dreadfulness collide?

Suddenly, I tapped his shoulder, and hugged him tight,
And reassured that light will brighten this night,
This tragedy will not let him fright,
That in this downfall, we will fight.

I gazed afar, and saw this man,
My beloved papa has now begun,
Slowly accepting that his farm,
Will shine again like the sun.

I gazed and spoke,
"Papa, do not cry anymore,
'Cause our Creator will give us more".

| If I can

If I can be a writer,
I will write a story
Of the bitter-sweet love we share.
I'll let my pen guide me
To write the flow of the story
Saying, "he's the one for me."

If I can be a poet,
You will be the subject
Of all the poetries I'll make.
And I will share it
To everyone, anywhere,
To let them know you are mine.

If I can be a writer,
You will be the character
Who is loved by a girl who's imperfect.
And as the story ends,
The girl will sing a song to you,
Saying, "I will be yours forever."

'Cause baby, you are so perfectly made,
And I won't trade you for anything,
Because I love you and I won't leave.
I promise to stay, forever.

๐™‰๐™€๐™’๐™Ž | CSU-Lasam Undergoes 2-day ISO Surveillance Audit

LASAM, CAGAYAN- To further maintain and enhance the Quality Management System (QMS) of the campus, the Cagayan State University Lasam underwent a 2-day International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Surveillance Audit on October 16-17, 2024.

The audit, conducted by Mr. Edgardo V. Eleria, an ISO Auditor, began at the College of Industrial Technology (CIT), and continued with the College of Information and Computing Sciences (CICS).

Auditor Eleria, inspected all aspects of the campus which included academic programs, course offerings, student services, research activities, and administrative processes.

On the second day, the Office of the Campus Executive Officer, CSM-Arta, Risk Management Office, Quality Assurance and Planning Offices were evaluated.

Meanwhile, Auditor Eleria emphasized during the presentation of findings the significance of having a plan to evaluate the effectiveness of the employees' actions.

"Dapat mayroon kayong plan. Just like preparing a project plan, or any other project na gagawin ninyo, mayroong timeline, feasibility, and resources, para ma-track ninyo yung inyong actions," the Auditor stated.

"At the end of the day, kailangan niyo rin pong i-evaluate yung effectiveness ng inyong actions. Overall, I will recommend your inclusion to the certified campuses," he added.

Furthermore, CEO Florante Victor M. Balatico, became emotional during his message of acceptance, where he recognized the efforts of the CSU Lasam community and affirmed the campus' continuous commitment to providing quality services to its clientele.

| Close Yet Distant

You were close,
Yet so farโ€”
A touch away,
But not to my heart.

You held my hand,
But missed my soul,
A presence felt,
But never whole.

You stood beside meโ€”
You were near,
Yet never there;
Though it felt so real

I shared my thoughts,
You heard the sound,
Your words were whispers,
Falling silent in the air

Your eyes would glance,
But never see,
The hidden partsโ€”
The real me.

So close, yet so farโ€”
From my soul.
A whisper of connection,
A shadow in the lightโ€”
Present yet distant,
It never felt just right.
