| Rain, Rain, Go Away
Rain, oh, rain, why won't you go away?
Shivering in the cold, I can't find my wayโ
A way to a home, warm and cozy.
Sitting by the sofa, with a blanket's embrace.
The wind blew with the icy-cold air,
Blocking it with cardboard, but to no avail.
Hugging myself to ease the coldness,
Of the raging wind that the storm carries with.
Skin wrinkled with every droplet of rain.
Lip's pale and dry, with no water to take.
How will I survive this catastrophe?
How can I smile with this brutality?
Am I unworthy of this life's wealth?
With no food to ease my hunger,
Nor a shelter to hide with.
Tell me if I'm unworthy of these needs.
I envy those who are comfortable in the caress
Of a secured home with a coffee in hand.
Closing my eyes, as I fervently pray.
Someday, I hope to be blessed with a home.
Shedding tears under this cold, wet sky, I spoke,
"Rain, rain, please go away.
I want to feel the sun's warm embrace
And be dry as I sleep in the street's solace."
