LCPO’s ENHANCE BUST OPERATION SIEZES WORTH PHP6.9 MILLION OF ILLEGAL DRUGS IN BRGY. PAJO
Along with the collective effort of various law enforcement agencies in the Lapu Lapu City Police Office, a high-value individual was successfully caught in the trap of Lapu-Lapu Cops through a buy-bust operation that seized over Php6.9 million worth of illegal drugs on Monday, January 27, says LCPO.
The bust operation was enforced after a weeklong surveillance, when the joint operatives of LCPO initially conducted a buy-bust operation with PDEA 7, NISG-NAVFORCEN, RIU 7, and RID 7, which resulted in the arrest of a 45-year-old suspect.
The arrested suspect was identified by the authorities as alias “Rex,” a resident of Purok Bangan, Brgy. Cabancalan, Mandaue City.
Authorities have confiscated thirteen (13) pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu that has an estimated weight of 1,025 grams with a standard drug price amounting to Php6,970,000, one (1) backpack, one (1) unit Nokia cellular phone, and Php50,000 used as boodle money.
PCOL DYAN V AGUSTIN, Acting City Director, LCPO, accentuates that this commendable operation is a result of constant intelligence gathering and surveillance in line with the Regional Director’s Mantra.
“This operation underscores the dedication and hard work of our law enforcement officers, who continuously strive to rid our communities of individuals involved in illegal activities. We extend our deepest gratitude to our intelligence operatives, field personnel, and all those who contributed to this successful mission”, he added.
The suspect is set to face charges under Section 5 and 11 of the Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
