On Monday, January 27, 2025, the College of Education (COE) of the Ifugao State University (IFSU) - Main Campus conducted its Blue Coat and Pinning Ceremony for the Pre-Service Teachers with the theme: Weaving the Threads of Commitment, Embracing the Noble Call at the IFSU Heritage and Convention Hall.
Represented by Donato Abaya, Nathaniel F. Dimog, Campus Executive Director of IFSU Lamut Campus extended his warm welcome to the parents, students, COE faculty, and visitors for their presence and left a notable quote,
"Stay committed, stay inspired, and keep dreaming the best and have the dedication and passion in everything you do," he said.
Virginia C. Amogan-Batan, CESO VI, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, Department of Education (DepEd), Ifugao Division inspired pre-service teachers, defining that the profession they are embracing is not just about pursuing a career or finding a job, it is because of their call, the noble call.
She then challenged them, leaving a quote
"Train yourselves to look beyond what you see."
After the inspiring message, the Blue Coat and Pinning Ceremony proper commenced, followed by the Teacher's Creed, led by Rhea Fae U. Cabbigat, BSED- English 4.
Later on, a tribute to parents was delivered by three student representatives
Flor Geneva P. Dango, BSED English 4 expressed gratitude to the parents, who became their first teachers, friends, and companions, showing them a world of faith, respect, kindness, and peace.
Jeramy Balog, BSED Filipino 4, also expressed his gratitude for the support, love, and sacrifices of their parents, emphasizing that their parents are their foundation in everything and of who they are today.
Additionally, Kyla Requerman, BEEd 4, expressed her appreciation to parents for their unending advice to them, she also gave a reminder to her fellow students
"Lagi mong isama ang mga magulang mo sa pangarap mo, dahil ikaw ang unang naging pangarap nila."
A response from the parents was also shared, represented by Nena Dulnuan. She expressed appreciation for the students' hard work and responsibility and reminded them to treasure their academic journey.
Gemma Bobola, parent, also spoke, sharing that she is honored and filled with joy by the students' courage and dedication in their field. She left them with a memorable message: "Always remember the values instilled, the lessons learned, and the love that surrounds you."
In her closing remarks, Desiree Gume Nangpuhan, Dean of COE, expressed gratitude to everyone who became part of the future professionals' journey. She asked the parents to continuously support the students, not only during their internship but until they pass the licensure examination and until they achieve their goals.
She also emphasized a quote for students and for everyone
"Do not only rely on luck, but on every bit of hard work that, you put in."
This traditional blue coat and pinning ceremony is held for the pre-service teachers as they prepare for their internship or practice teaching before finishing their degree as a Bachelor of Education.
